We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The ease of use is the most valuable. I have tried a number of BPMN packages, and I find the user interface of ARIS BPM easier and more intuitive than others. If your team is knowledgeable on BPMN, it is really pretty easy to figure out on your own because it adheres to the standards extremely well. I have tried Bizagi, BizFlow, and a variety of such solutions, and I just liked ARIS BPM better.""The most valuable features are business process modeling and reporting.""Also, the UML parts have been improved very much in the last two years. And it's very powerful now to combine the BPMN and UML parts in the product, because you can make a connection between them, so that you have the right interoperability between them. So if you're doing data modeling, you can use your class diagram and bind that to the BPMN part.""Fully-reportable database over Visio.""The stability of the ARIS BPM platform is quite good. The nice thing about it is the central database, where we can use all of our data. We can even manage users.""Good at controlling the workflow and relevant key processes.""ARIS BPA is customizable as per specific business requirements.""We also have relationships specified with our IT systems and our organizational chart. That makes it possible to analyze things from the systems point of view and regarding the organizational part of the company. It all comes together in one tool and that is what gives us the most value at the moment."

"We have seen ROI with this solution over the years that we have used it.""There are a lot of features I find valuable, but I think that the metamodel customization is one of the best features that the solution offers.""The solution is pretty stable.""The user interface is good. It's both clear and comprehensible. It's easy to work with."

Cons
"The usability. Others tools are easier to manage without same complexity that ARIS has.""ARIS has an internal fully customizable workflow system called APG, which is very good, but it’s targeted mostly at creating workflows related to ARIS content, and not general workflows to support other processes inside a company.""The workflow approval process could be represented better in the overviews.""End-to-end visibility and real-time are areas that will need greater attention.""I believe the solutions BPM tools are not very good and need improvements.""Areas for improvement include sales, prospecting, shopping, customer service, after-sales (claims and advice for the client), and all processes pertaining to customer loyalty.""The product is difficult to use for someone without prior knowledge of working with it. It requires a certain level of administration training.""With ARIS BPM, the script creation is quite cumbersome. With version ten, we needed our developers to do scripting."

More ARIS BPA Cons →

"There needs to be more information at the outset about how to use the solution and how to deploy it. The deployment process needs improvement.""The reverse engineering of the database is already there, but in the next release I would like to see some pilot supplied with the solution in order to address any database.""This solution can be more user-friendly and easier to use, with better dashboards.""The solution needs to better integrate with other products, like Microsoft."
