Find out in this report how the two Cloud Migration solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Live Migration's best feature is that it's free."
"The most valuable feature is the live, block-to-block replication."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...I rate the solution's support a ten out of ten."
"The product is reasonably priced."
"The CloudEndure feature is most valuable because it is user friendly and very simple."
"We can failover to an isolated environment and validate the application without impacting the production environment. We can do more testing in a non-impactful way..."
"Journaling is by far the most valuable feature. We have used it several times for customers who have gotten ransomware and had to do a rollback. Having the right time period was important. Some of them had their backups encrypted. So, they didn't encrypt the Zerto machine seven days previously, and we were able to bring that back up."
"Another advantage is the ease of use. You can click through instead of typing in the code. It's all already scripted down to the network adjustments within the VMs and the timed delays for servers that need to come up in sequence. Overall, it's a good package for us to use. We started using it in about 2018 and haven't looked back."
"The instant recovery at DR locations is the most valuable feature. We're required to do periodic DR tests of critical databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL. We have recovery point objectives set for specific databases and we need to be able to achieve them. Zerto helps solve that business problem."
"One of the valuable features is the ability to re-IP on the fly, because it makes the migration a lot smoother on the system end."
"The Zerto university for training staff is very useful."
"The fact that we are able to test the failover of live systems during regular hours is invaluable to our organization."
"We can recover both systems on-premises and in the public cloud."
"I do not see any improvements required for the CloudEndure."
"One drawback to using CloudEndure is that the default is to give one small, lightweight server, which is created in the cloud."
"We would like to have a disaster recovery feature included in this solution."
"Live Migration has some issues with target setups."
"I think it is important to have more logs, and more details would be great because we have just logged on the client's side, but there weren't many details on the cloud."
"I would like to see a separate product offer for performing backups, although I think that this is something that they are expecting to release in the next version."
"For special situations, there are options within advanced settings. You don't have to dig too far for them, but they're not quite as straightforward."
"While going in, we were looking at the backup tool so that we had a DR tool and a backup tool, but they stopped developing their backup solution built into it. That was a bummer for us, so now, we have a DR solution, and we have a backup solution."
"Migration of complex VMware and Hyper-V solution. Using Zerto to replicate to azure and S3."
"We encountered some issues during Active Directory recovery."
"We had a situation where we had to relicense VMs once they were moved over. We later found out that that feature is built-in, but it's not easy to find. The way it's done is that you have to go to the target site to turn it on. If that were explained a little bit better up front, that would be helpful."
"Increased granularity in how long to keep the journal would be nice."
"The number-one area in which they need to improve their product is what I would call "automatic self-healing." This is related to running them at scale... We have 1,000 VRAs and if any one of their VRAs has a problem, goes offline, all of the customer protection groups and all of the customers that are tied to that VRA are not replicating at all. That means the RPO is slipping until somebody makes a manual effort to fix the issue. It has become a full-time job at my company for somebody to keep Zerto running all the time, everywhere, and to keep all the customers up and going."
