Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What I like about Azure DNS is that it doesn't have any issues and integrates quickly with other products. It has good integration, which is incredible. I also like that whenever you deploy private links and endpoints, Azure DNS gives you the option to select the Azure native DNS, private DNS, or go with the Azure custom DNS. It depends, but if you don't have any dependencies on the DNS, then, like many customers, you won't have DNS issues. Azure DNS is a very good solution that helps you with domains and other resources.""The most valuable features of Azure DNS are the DNS forwarder and the DNS additional record editions.""Data protection is paramount across cloud platforms""The most valuable feature of Azure DNS is it works automatically after configuration. Additionally, the solution is secure.""The most valuable feature is the ease of installation.""One of the key benefits of Azure DNS is its integration with other Azure services. As it is a solution developed by Microsoft, it is easy to integrate with other Azure offerings. Azure DNS also includes Defender for DNS, a feature that protects against anomalies and threats on the DNS. This added security is provided directly by Microsoft. The integration and security features of Azure DNS make it a valuable option for users of the Azure cloud platform.""Azure DNS provides value beyond its user-friendly interface and easy learning curve.""It is a scalable solution."

"BlueCat Integrity's scalability and user-friendliness are the most valuable features.""Managing our BDI infrastructure globally is simple, and BlueCat's personalized relationship with us is valuable to our organization.""BlueCat Integrity provides us with flexibility and visibility that we did not have before.""The solution includes automatic management of segments.""As a defense contractor, we must meet many compliance standards regarding logging, configuration, and administrative access. BlueCat is one of the few products that combines all the compliance components in a secure, reliable solution.""Adaptive DNS's best feature is DDoS protection, which stops malware and network security attacks.""This inherent stability, derived from its Linux-based architecture, provides a well-established and reliable platform.""The most valuable piece, which has been a lifesaver, would be the BlueCat DNS resolver. BlueCat Cloud DNS resolver is a tool that takes a look into your cloud's DNS and then reports back everything it finds into BlueCat's DNS Edge solution. The Edge solution has a bunch of nice rules that you can configure to route the DNS traffic. That automation alone is a lifesaver for me for the day-to-day churn of the DNS components that change on an hourly, daily basis."

Cons
"They should include more integration with other platforms.""I would like to see more security features and protection.""The CDN integration could be improved.""Azure DNS' documentation needs to improve.""The product must provide information on which DNS or application is consuming the most budget.""The solution’s pricing could be improved.""Azure DNS could improve by having more updates.""There are issues with the cloud systems."

More Azure DNS Cons →

"The technical support is slow and has room for improvement.""The UI is outdated and needs a modern refresh.""Usability needs to be better.""The integration has room for improvement.""The DNS and DHCP servers for guests are separated from the main organization. A lot of times, it doesn't allow you to choose a default IP space. When I log in to the GUI, it doesn't default to where I want it to be. So far, I haven't been able to find out how to change or specify that so that it defaults to a particular space, such as the main org. If I'm looking for the IP space for guests, I need to toggle and go to the guest site. Most of the time, I want the IP space for the org to be my main space, but it doesn't give me the ability to do that, or I haven't been able to find that over the last two years.""When you replace an appliance, there are many configuration steps, so adding zero-touch provisioning would be helpful. It can be quite tedious and time-consuming to replace a device if it fails or deploy a new one.""While the product is IPAM, DNS, and DHCP, it does provide NTP functionality, but one of the things that they have yet to correct or catch up with is NTP authentication. There are new standards being pushed out and they are lagging a little bit in supporting them.""However, it does not offer robust support for high availability failover with different subnets, especially if the servers are located in different data centers and belong to distinct IP networks."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution payment model is based on how many users use it. This is not an expensive solution, but it can depend on how long we use it. However, if the price was decreased it would be helpful."
  • "We have an enterprise license agreement with Microsoft. Their pricing is competitive. I would rate it a three and a half out of five."
  • "The solution itself is free but you need to pay for the Microsoft Azure infrastructure and host your domains in Azure to use it."
  • "The solution's price is reasonable."
  • "The price is low and it's a reasonable price for that product."
  • "Azure DNS is a cheap solution, and I rate it a two out of ten for pricing."
  • "We use the tool's free version."
  • "To use Azure DNS, I need to buy the license meant for Windows Server."
  • More Azure DNS Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Adaptive DNS's price depends on your network ranges, the services you want, and the level of support you require."
  • "Overall, it's a decent price for the product. There are other vendors that have support models and costs that are, sometimes, double what Bluecat charges."
  • "They're competitive. The way they run their model is good. Could it stand some tweaking? Sure. There are some items there. One of the things I looked at in the recent past was their container solutions. You have to pay for licensing to use their containerized platform, but the licensing doesn't include the container licensing itself. I'd love to be able to have one big package per se."
  • "Compared to other solutions, BlueCat Integrity offers a competitive price."
  • "BlueCat Integrity meets our expectations and aligns with our budget forecast."
  • "Overall, I would say that it is priced fairly, though perhaps a bit on the high side."
  • "We paid around $5,000 per year for SolarWinds, and now we pay around $20,000 per year for BlueCat, but we have less downtime and fewer issues with DNS and DHCP."
  • "While BlueCat falls on the expensive side, its exceptional customer service and consistent quality justify the cost."
