We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution offers very good division management.""Action Flows are good.""The solution has very detailed documentation for technical items so it is very easy for developers to use.""The real-time replication was just implemented and is quite useful.""We use the tool for supply chain transformation. The tool has helped us find the bottlenecks in the supply chain like where the delay occurred in delivery, payment, etc. We had to extract two years' of data from the SAP system and an internal tool. We fed the data into Celonis and it created a process map for us with hundreds of variations. It has helped us see where exactly the bottleneck was. The tool has also helped us generate a lot of reviews and KPIs. It has helped us to find the problem and the remedy through process optimization.""I like the spaghetti it throws off when configuring the sequence of processes and tracking the endpoint. I also like the variation from these defined processes and what is being observed on the ground. I'm exploring the root cause analysis a lot these days, and it seems to be quite interesting. But again, there are a lot of external dependencies on that. But I think the spaghetti, and the one that shows the variation and the performance gap, is something which I really like.""Celonis, especially for high-risk finance-related processes, helped us make precise decisions and uncover hidden values within our architecture. It was one of the most significant values our business identified. Additionally, it helped us during the migration process.""What I found most valuable in Celonis is the ease of use. I also like that users can compare and contrast and derive any KPIs, keep track and see what's happening within the process via Celonis."

"It is a stable solution...I rate the technical support a ten out of ten...On a scale of one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy, I rate the setup a nine.""The interface is simplified and easy to use.""One feature I found really cool was the Conformance Engine.""It is very easy to work on the way the ETL happens in ARIS Process Mining.""I have found Software AG ARIS Process Mining scalable."

Cons
"I would really appreciate it if Celonis had significant compatibility with robotic process automation solutions. Once they define the process and understand it, streamline it, optimize it, and take inputs around it. When they reconfigure the process, there should be good compatibility with any of the automation tools, wherein I can integrate for robotic process automation, where I can streamline many of these processes on the application itself. Today, I need to extract this process and reload it into other tools, like UiPath, to integrate them with Automation Anywhere. If this tool can provide that efficiency, that would be great. I'm a data analytics guy. I lead a data analytics team. So technically, I would primarily look at if this can give me a visualization opportunity and integrate that in terms of the data.""Another area of improvement is implementation. So, in future releases, I would like to see a more streamlined implementation process would be appreciated, making it less time-consuming and more efficient.""The solution needs to implement more automation aspects into the product. Right now, it's lacking.""The price is high for us.""Essentially, the solution should allow for more plug and play instead of requiring a person to be adept at a certain level in coding and developing.""The price could be better, but complexity is the biggest problem. Celonis is quite easy to operate once the customizations are done. You need a large amount of skill and knowledge to work with the tool. You need to understand it and know more than the basics.""One area for improvement is that, while Celonis has existing APIs for some domains like accounts, it lacks ready-made ones for others, like financial services. This means we need to customize our data channels so the data can be used by Celonis.""For example, we would like to see improvement of the simulation capabilities to include a BPMN-compliant modeler. That is, we would like to be able to connect the simulation to the BPMN modeler. I think it's one of the features that is missing in Celonis."

More Celonis Cons →

"The installation is straightforward, we didn't have any technical issues with installing. However, we needed support to complete the implementation.""There should be a single site for modeling and mining.""When the process models are transferred back to the design environment for further optimization and simulations, we need to see some improvements in the way the models get created in the design.""I guess we have many unnecessary steps within our processes. There is room for automation and room for enhancement within our application portfolio management...In short, I would like to eliminate unnecessary steps in some processes in this solution.""Customizing KPIs and building dashboards were not as intuitive as other similar tools."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is quite a significant investment. From a cost perspective, they need to reevaluate the licensing model. The cost is justified, but they need to make the licensing model slightly different."
  • "Evaluating the price of the solution can be a difficult question. It is all about the business case and the return of the investments. That is typically how we also see this type of solution. It depends very much on the return. The entry-level is focused on enterprise size companies, for the SMB segment is it is out of their range. It is definitely expensive."
  • "I was not involved in that, but I am sure it was cost-effective for them. That's why they made the decision to take it."
  • "The cost of the software for us or the client is on the higher end."
  • "The solution requires an annual license. There is room for improvement because it is priced for organizations and not for individuals. For an individual, it would be too expensive for them to use it."
  • "Celonis is expensive. It's not for mid or low-sized enterprises because the license price is high. Overall, it's quite pricey compared to anything else that I have heard about. But the good thing is that they don't charge per user. They charge for the data model."
  • "Celonis offers free learning possibilities. I am using the free version of Celonis."
  • "It is an expensive solution."

  • "We pay for a license to use this solution."
  • "The pricing is based on licenses."
  • "It's highly-priced, so it's not exactly a cheap product...We are getting what we are paying for, so on a scale of one to ten, or one is low, and ten is a high price, I rate the pricing a nine out of ten."
  • "Looking at the value it gives, ARIS Process Mining's pricing is fair."
