We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We are able to consolidate licences and make use of many Microsoft products using this solution. If we have any Microsoft customers, we encourage them to use this solution for enterprise defence.""Microsoft Defender XDR provides strong identity protection with comprehensive insights into risky user behavior and potential indicators of compromise.""The common and advanced security policies for threat hunting and blocking attacks are valuable.""It has great stability.""The most valuable feature of all is the full integration with the rest of the software in the operating system and Office 365, as well as Microsoft SCCM. It is quite easy for us to work with the whole instance of Microsoft products. This integration improves the benefits of the whole suite of products.""The integration between all the Defender products is the most valuable feature.""All of the security components are valuable including, antiphishing, antispam, and stage three antivirus.""The attack simulation is excellent; initially, this feature wasn't very robust, but Microsoft improved what we could achieve with it. We can now customize our practice phishing emails and include our company logo, for example. Attack simulation also helps integrate with third-party solutions where applicable and provides an overview of our security architecture through testing. The summary includes areas for improvement in our protection and what steps we need to take to get there."

"Elastic is straightforward, easy to integrate, and highly customizable.""The most valuable thing is that this solution is widely used for work management and research. It's easy to jump into the security use case with the same technology.""The most valuable feature is the ability to collect authentication information from service providers.""The most valuable feature is the speed, as it responds in a very short time.""It is scalable.""The most valuable features of Elastic Security are it is open-source and provides a high level of security.""We chose the product based on the ability to scan for malware using a malware behavioral model as opposed to just a traditional hash-based antivirus. Therefore, it's not as intensive.""ELK Logstash is easy and fast, at least for the initial setup with the out of box uses."

"We've contacted technical support several times. They've been very good. They have been able to help us resolve our issues.""This solution allows us to locate the malware in real-time.""The stability of the RSA NetWitness Endpoint is very good.""It is stable. We have been using it for some time, without any issues.""It's a scalable solution. We have around five to eight customers using RSA NetWitness Endpoint, and we hope to increase the number of users.""RSA NetWitness does market analysis in a more granular form. It gives you full visibility.""The most valuable feature of RSA NetWitness Network is the single unified dashboard from which you can manage all the different products of RSA. Additionally, the integration with native applications is good.""Technical support is knowledgeable."

Cons
"The support from Microsoft could improve. There are times I have to wait for a response from a qualified specialist.""The onboarding and offboarding need improvement. I work with other vendors as well, and they have an option to add a device or remove a device from the portal, whereas with Microsoft 365 Defender, we need to do that manually. However, once you do that, everything can be controlled through the portal, but getting the device onboarded and offboarded is currently manual. If we have an option to simply remove a device from the portal or get a device added from the portal, it would be more convenient. The rest of the features are similar. This is the only area where I found it different from others. I would also like to be able to simply filter with a few of the queries that are already there.""The web filtering solution needs to be improved because currently, it is very simple.""The capability to not only thwart attacks but also to adapt to evolving threats is crucial.""The solution does not offer a unified response and standard data.""The interface could be improved. For example, if you want to do a phishing simulation for your employees, it can take a while to figure out what to do. The interface is a bit messy and could be updated. It isn't too bad, but doing some things can be a long process.""The price should be adjustable by region.""At times, when we have an incident email and we click on the link for that incident, it opens a pop-up, but there is nothing. It has happened a couple of times."

More Microsoft Defender XDR Cons →

"There is room for improvement in the Kibana dashboard and in the asset management for the program.""Improvements in Elastic Security could include refining and normalizing queries to make them more user-friendly, enhancing the user experience with better documentation, and addressing any latency issues.""The biggest challenge has been related to the implementation.""I think because we are a cybersecurity company, the thing that can be improved is the prebuilt tools, especially quality. Compared to its competitor, they still have fewer prebuilt security rules. Elastic Security, in terms of generating alerts, cannot group the same products into one another. Even though the alerts are the same, they still generate them one by one. So, it is very noisy in our dashboard. I would like the Elastic Security admin to group all the same alarms into one alarm so that our dashboard is not noisy.""The setup process is complex. You need a solid working knowledge of networking, operating systems, and a little programming.""There isn't really a very good user experience. You need a lot of training.""Sometimes, the solution isn't the easiest to use.""This solution is very hard to implement."

More Elastic Security Cons →

"This solution needs an upgrade in reporting. I have heard from RSA that they are working on this, but as of yet it is not available.""Its price could be improved. It is an expensive product. Its training is also too expensive. It would be great if they can have a better pricing scheme for the training.""The solution is modular, for example you can buy the RSA ePack, which you buy as a module is not part of the conduit solution. They could include it and have it as an all-in-one solution.""Threat detection could be better.""The threat intelligence could improve in RSA NetWitness Endpoint.""The contamination feature could be improved.""The deployment process is complex. I don't know why, but this solution will suddenly stop working. Logs stop coming. Often, one thing or another stops working. Most of the time, one of my team members is working with troubleshooting and working with technical support. Log passing is also one of the biggest challenge.""We would like to see the hunting and investigation features of this solution improved, in order to provide better visibility of issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solutions price is fair for what they offer."
  • "The price could be better. Normally, the costs depend on the country you're located in for the license. When we were in the initial stage, we went with the E5 license they call premium standard. It cost us around $5.20 per month for four users."
  • "The price of the solution is high compared to others and we have lost some customers because of it."
  • "Microsoft is not competitive with the pricing of the solution. The competitors are able to offer lower discounts. The price of the solution is higher."
  • "We have a lot of problems in Latin America regarding the price of Microsoft 365 Defender, because the relationship between dollars and the money of the different countries, it's is a lot. Many customers that have small businesses say that they would like the solution but it is too expensive. However, large companies do not find the cost an issue."
  • "The most valuable licensing option is expensive, so pricing could be improved. Licensing options for this solution also need to be consolidated, because they frequently change."
  • "Microsoft should provide lower-level licensing options. They should do it in such a way that even an individual could purchase a license, and it should be entirely flexible."
  • "They have moved from a licensing model to pay-per-use... The question is: What happens if, for any reason, there's not enough budget to accept this model? That could be a great problem."

  • "We use the open-source version, so there is no charge for this solution."
  • "We are using the free, open-source version of this solution."
  • "Elastic Stack is an open-source tool. You don't have to pay anything for the components."
  • "There is no charge for using the open-source version."
  • "This is an open-source product, so there are no costs."
  • "It's a monthly cost with Elastic SIEM, but I am not sure of the exact cost."
  • "It is easy to deploy, easy to use, and you get everything you need to become operational with it, and have nothing further to pay unless you want the OLED plugin."
  • "Compared to other products such as Dynatrace, this is one of the cheaper options."

  • "With RSA, there is flexibility in choosing the service, products, and the range that meets your requirement, as well as they are flexible in terms of pricing."
  • "They can easily adjust if you have the requirements which are required. If you have a budget cut or a budget constraint, they can bend."
  • "It is highly scalable. It can be bought based on your requirements."
  • "I do not have any opinion on the pricing or licensing of the product."
  • "The cost depends on the number of endpoints that you want to monitor, but it is not expensive."
  • "It is an expensive product."
  • "The price of the solution depends on the environment. If the environment is large then it will cost more. However, the larger the environment with more endpoints, you will receive an increased discount. If the environment is very small, then you might think it is expensive. It is always better to buy in bulk to receive a discount. The minimum number of assets is usually 500, with discounts on 1000 and 2000."
  • "The pricing is not very economical. It is a quite costly product for India. One thing is that when you purchase it, you have to purchase a module separately."
