We performed a comparison between IBM MaaS360 and ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Microsoft, JAMF, VMware and others in Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)."I like that we can implement conditional access."
"The device profiling which uses the official Outlook email enabled us to control the screenshot feature and prevent copying outside of the organization's application."
"The stability is good."
"The feature I like the most is that we can perform remote tasks. If we want to retire or wipe out personal data or corporate data from a device, we can use Microsoft Intune remotely, and with the click of a button, data is removed automatically. Nothing needs to be done from the end-user side."
"It supports end-users who tend to lock their devices quite frequently. Its conditional access policy helps us keep the users logged into their devices."
"Based on my experience, I find Intune very flexible for managing Windows devices. We can use scripting, and we can make use of the self-service portal or the company portal to publish some of the applications for Windows."
"The ability to send configurations to our systems is valuable, particularly as we don't have a regular Windows AD server. Our current environment doesn't have a Windows AD, which limits our ability to push GPOs. However, this is where the solution can step in and help us push policies."
"Its protection policies are most valuable. It protects mobile devices as well as individual apps. It is pretty scalable, and its documentation is also pretty good. It is also pretty straightforward to deploy."
"The most valuable feature is that it's comprehensive - it covers mobile devices and laptops in one package."
"All features that we have deployed are useful. We do access office emails on our smartphones, and we have complete sync with Active Directory. Our calendar also gets synced in the MaaS360 application. We also ensure that the data from these official applications is not being misused by any of the employees. We have disabled cut, copy, paste, and all such features. It ensures that all the official data that our employees have on their smartphones is secure. Security is the paramount feature that we value in this product."
"The most valuable features of IBM MaaS360 are remote control and setting up a phone."
"My customers value the ability to control all their devices from a central point in IBM MaaS360."
"The best feature is the ability to control mobile phones, wipe and containerize the data, and keep employees' work data separate from personal data."
"Using this solution has made things more convenient. Earlier, we had to depend a lot more on IT to find and resolve our issues."
"The product’s most valuable feature is email, browser, and application security."
"MaaS can force people to lock their phones. Not everyone likes having a PIN and other security features on their phones, but this sets a requirement that you can't get your emails unless you have a PIN on your phone. That was a good feature, and we were able to easily increase the PIN from four digits to six digits. Overall, it was pretty user-friendly."
"Can manage a large fleet of devices without any outside interference."
"The product needs to upgrade itself when the server is overloaded."
"It would be beneficial to have a more straightforward understanding of Intune's capabilities, presented in a simplified manner."
"It's only good for a Microsoft environment."
"Lacking in features such as Wi-Fi and network security."
"It just doesn't handle software updates well at all by itself. You need to be a scripting wizard to make those happen properly, or you use third-party tools. The Windows feature updates are very difficult to implement. I would like to see a proprietary built-in remote control tool. I know that they have Team Viewer integrated, but it is not seamless. It would be nice if they had a seamless remote desktop capability directly from the Intune console."
"Its configuration is fairly complicated. You have to do quite a bit of discovery to be able to deploy it for a customer. You have to ask them a lot of questions. So, its initial deployment is the biggest challenge. They should make it easier to deploy with the use of Wizards or something else. During the deployment stage, there could be profiles for the customers who are particularly wanting to use certain feature sets of Intune."
"Some enrollment features could be improved."
"The biggest problem we ever have is when something goes out of date after 30 days when nobody has logged into it. We do have a problem trying to get those back online. We've been working with Microsoft to resolve that problem, but that's been the only issue that we've had in the last few years."
"An area for improvement would be handshaking with Microsoft in terms of trying to get a DLP on Microsoft OS."
"Zero day support is something they can work on. They can make it a little bit more user-friendly."
"IBM MaaS360 can improve the information provided for DLP control. Some of our customers would benefit from this."
"The price could be lower."
"IBM MaaS360 can improve the location reporter. There is a 15-minute delay and this does not allow for any usefulness."
"We had a problem with Microsoft computers. If you downloaded emails on a Microsoft Windows Surface PC, that would also require a license. The Outlook application didn't look great for us on a PC."
"They should allow for the building of custom reports with graphics."
"The look needs to be updated and it could be simpler to use."
"Lacks a factory reset feature."
