We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Tasks now don't depend upon the unavailability of certain employees/colleagues to be completed. Also, bots can run all day long which also affects the overall budgets.""This boosts the customer confidence and experience. When the customer experience increases, obviously sales will increase.""We are working with one of the bots where we send claims through WhatsApp. Any user could take a photo in WhatsApp, then send that data to the organization. Now, whenever a photo is takes, different phones have different primary resolutions, and the data being captured is not clear data. At that moment, the data is automated to a very power system which centralizes the process to one point. This is what we are using for the insurance provider. They fill out the claims form and send this information to the organization, then we use automation tools to automate the process and come to a conclusion.""Other products are more low-code, whereas Automation Anywhere is no-code making it easier to learn and user-friendly.""It has the ability to tag different components within the automation. We built it to track the ROI and stability of the product.""In particular, with our requirements, we have seen reduced dependency on the workforce and we had proper execution of our business process.""The technical support is good. If it is required that they provide their resources, they will send their resources to your organization to support you in terms of development and technical support.""It's easy to use for business users. Everything is good. It's a nice product."

"GUI testing is the strength of the tool. The tool works as expected, and the support response from eggPlant, as a company, has been quick and substantial.""DAI's newest release allows us to test via scripts rather than models, because we have done 95 percent of our development in functional, not through modeling. I am really happy that then we can use the controller to run scripts rather than having to translate things to models. There are lots of options.""The most valuable features would be the image recognition and the OCR.""Its scalability is good. It is useful for desktop applications, and it also uses OCR and does image recognition.""Good text reading ability.""The main feature of Eggplant Test is that it can do fully automated web testing and app testing.""The most valuable features of Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence are bug hunting and OCR technology.""We did see a massive return on investment from using Eggplant."

Cons
"AA has many features but the issue is with the loss of overhead on computing resources. For example, if the bot is encrypted, the bot should decrypt it first then act accordingly. If there are issues with the logic in the bot, there will be a lot of computer memory overload. There should be an additional feature for cloud functionality.""Automation Anywhere's stability could improve. It isn't completely stable, but it's getting better daily.""Training is good and interactive but the final certification exam is very tough and it requires in-depth practical knowledge.""The IQ Bots have a lot of room for improvement in terms of accuracy level. We need to improvise a lot. I'm facing another big challenge with one of the use cases. We raised a ticket and did multiple follow-ups with support, but the accuracy still isn't up to the mark.""The vendor should increase the training and other engagements with users before they acquire the platform, as this will simplify its usage further and ensure that there no hindrances in using the platform.""The goal of any automation is to provide efficiencies... I would like a default feature where each bot gives us data on all the benefits it provides from its process.""Automation Anywhere is a technical application. It is not so easy for a regular user. It requires technical knowledge.""The IQ Bot has not yet succeeded in living up to its reputation due to its high cost, low ROI, and its inability to meet client requirements."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"The solution would crash from time to time.""Eggplant Test should emphasize on improving its offering in non-Windows environments.""We found that we had issues regarding the VPN setup, which is one of the reasons that we did not purchase this solution.""If one area could be improved, it would be some of their documentation. In particular, some of their online help and user support documentation is a little bit out of date and could be revised and updated on a more frequent basis. Other than that, I haven't really found any issues or problems.""In terms of additional features, it would be helpful to have one package for all testing. You have the manager, the AI, then you have functional, and about 10 different packages for installing.""A step forward would be to have event support, because it is more or less linear at the moment.""Its performance and stability could be better.""There was no free trial in it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

  • "It is scalable, but it is a matter of money in the pocket. You can scale it, but then you have to have additional licenses. The licensing approach of eggPlant is not the best."
  • "Make a smart decision about the number of developer- and execution-only licenses you purchase to maximize your budget. We found that going heavier on execution-only licenses has been a way to reduce our costs and maximize our ability to benefit from the software."
  • "End-to-end testing isn't possible for us because of the licensing problems. It's very expensive, so we only have two development/execution licenses."
  • "It probably has a yearly license."
  • "This solution is expensive when compared to the market. However, the reason it is more expensive is because of its stability, high performance, and for its support of any technology."
  • "Eggplant Test is a very expensive solution."
