Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's a scalable solution. We have deployed it for customers using 3000 nodes to those using 300,000 nodes.""The most valuable features of the solution are patch management and software license management.""The most valuable features of the solution are its patching capabilities and the help it offers when it comes to use cases, like prompting for the reboot after a certain period of time.""The support from BMC Client Management is very good.""One feature I like, that was especially valuable during the pandemic, is remote control. Remote control grants administrators and support personnel access to the laptops and PCs of employees (who might be working from home) in order to fix any issues that come up as and when they come up, even without having to wait for a support request.""The inventory and patch management tools are very valuable."

"The current product they provide has been very satisfying. The email service has been operating perfectly. Dynamics CRM is the best and competes well with the non-CRM products in the market, such as Salesforce.""We are satisfied with technical support.""The solution is easy to use and flexible.""The security provided by the solution is valuable.""The features that I like best with Microsoft 365 Business are that the files are available offline.""SharePoint and emailing are two technologies that are very widely used by all employees.""I can use it to access my data from wherever I want, which is a very good feature.""The initial setup is very simple and straightforward."

Cons
"The on-premises version of BMC Client Management has powerful remote control functionality and decent compliance features, but these features both rely on the discovery tool in order to gain a complete set of insights about the endpoint's environment. Now, BMC's discovery solution depends on having an agent installed in each endpoint and sometimes the agent doesn't work properly, making it difficult to get an accurate understanding of the environment (including special topologies) even with BMC's discovery tool.""The solution needs to add whitelisting because many customers request it.""BMC Client Management supports only iOS devices. It would be good if they would support Android as well.""BMC Client Management could improve in the area of integration.""It would be good if BMC Client Management can perform vulnerability assessment scanning at the endpoint on its own and mitigate that. Then, we wouldn't have to rely on a third party VA tool. I would like to see this application move to being a web-based one.""The solution does not offer the functionality of remote access to users."

"The technical support process could be a bit more secure. The information should stay within the ticketing system itself and not be passed via email.""If you're looking at Microsoft 365, Intune is a part of that as well and Intune is kind of a nightmare.""Integration between Excel and the SQL Server could work more efficiently.""The performance of the solution is sometimes slow. However, I am not sure if it is the solution's fault or the network we are using.""The price could be better.""It would be better if Microsoft supported more integrations.""The security features and the engine they are using are not good enough. They are not able to protect you from phishing attacks, which is the biggest drawback of this solution. We have been getting phishing emails, and I have been chasing Microsoft every single day. In terms of configuration, all the controls that they have recommended are in place, but we are still getting a lot of phishing emails. I would like to see a feature that allows us to share a folder from an online archive, which is a sort of mailbox attached to the primary mailbox. Currently, you can share folders, contacts, and calendars only in the primary mailbox. You can't share any folder or other things from the online archive. The limit of the primary mailbox is 50 GB, whereas the online archive is unlimited, so it would be useful if we can share a folder from the online archive.""The tool is slow sometimes."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution is low cost."
  • "To use BMC Client Management they charge annually per node."
  • "BMC Client Management is a very affordable solution. There is one main server license which I believe is around $1,000 per year, and then there is the license for the actual solution. With the solution license, you can opt for a suite license where you get access to all the features and benefits, or alternatively you can buy any of the five main components of the suite license individually."

  • "Depending on which plan you purchase, there are a plethora of applications available to you."
  • "Compared to buying a license, it is much cheaper and a good buy."
  • "We do monthly billing, however, I'm not sure what the exact costs are. We may pay around $1,000/month. We started using the Microsoft Teams and we've started doing the conference call feature, so that's another $4 an account and we have a few accounts using that right now."
  • "USD $1,250 annually for the standard package."
  • "Pricing can vary a lot due to fluctuations in exchange rates and that is not favorable for planning."
  • "Now you can select different licenses, for example, if somebody doesn't need all of the features, it would cost $8 USD per month and if they didn't need the email application then it would cost $6 USD per month."
  • "It works out to be $12.50 per user per month."
  • "Microsoft 365 Business will be good to have if you have a large organization where you have more than 3000 employees. Other cheaper solutions, like Gmail, are easily available in the market."
