We performed a comparison between F5 Silverline Managed Services and Radware Alteon based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most important feature is that they have seven firewall protection, to protect our web servers."
"The most valuable features are the configuration and configuring the process."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"Most vendors fulfill the requirements for standard DDoS protection, but F5 Silverline Managed Services has a better understanding of defending web applications like HTTP and can mitigate more bot activity than any other vendor."
"The most valuable feature is flexibility."
"It's a good front end for public infrastructure"
"The most valuable feature of F5 Silverline Managed Services is its cloud-native functionality and the high level of protection it provides."
"Its flexibility is the most valuable because it is a managed service. The good part is that you don't need to set it up. It just needs DNS routing, which is the easiest thing. Our client had Akamai for certain websites because they were using CDN features. They had NetScaler on the internal zone, F5 AWAFs on the data centers, and no WAF at all in the cloud. One of the main activities of the project was to move all these policies into a single WAF so that we could control and use that as a choke point. That exercise itself was very easy because it was a managed service and F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall does that for you. That's the best thing about F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall. It is easy to apply policies on-premises. If you have AWAF on-premises and you want to replicate some policies on F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall, other than the policies that it applies by itself, it is easy because you have a team that supports it. F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall works perfectly fine. It pretty much does everything that an Advanced WAF on-premises should do."
"The device blocks threats and allows legitimate users to work correctly."
"Security is one of the most valuable features that I like. It is easy to use and easy to configure."
"I found the link load balancer and server load balancer are the most valuable."
"I like the ADC feature and the global certificate feature."
"The strength of this solution is the application delivery controller."
"The UI is user-friendly."
"The most valuable features of Radware Alteon are the reverse proxy functionality and the SSL offload and hardware."
"It saves us a lot of work in terms of management since it has tasks already defined automatically. That enables us to better administer our services. It is very dynamic and easy to administer."
"In terms of the scalability, this part is always so confusing because they are checking for packet count. Also, after an attack, they said that the throughput must be from gigabits but then I check my bandwidth and it is already done in gigabits. So it is a little bit confusing."
"The navigation is difficult to use."
"We'd like more AI to be used. Right now, they don't use it enough."
"There is room for improvement in the stability of the solution."
"The product could be improved on the global load and the integration with the other solution like Cisco and Dell. As a representor of the operation, we prefer to have one platform which can accommodate all type of integration. We are also looking for more improvements in the security policy configuration."
"F5 Silverline Managed Services can improve by adding features that Palo Alto has."
"I just hope the price can be cheaper."
"There is a lot of room for improvement with their tech support. I am not sure F5 Silverline Managed Services can be classified as having tech support."
"I would like this solution to have an integration tool that will convert configuration from other software, into readable values for this product during implementation."
"We are in the process of updating our version of the solution, so judging what should be improved is difficult. But in some cases, the visualization takes a while, especially for mapping issues."
"I would like the solution to display and help visualize the reference map more easily. I would also like to better understand where queries come from and know which users are consulting the application, along with which app."
"Support is very important because if we get good support, we'll be able to sell and supply more numbers."
"We recently had a problem with the tables Obsolete ARP which was observed by the support team. It would be good to diagnose and solve this problem with a patch since it is not documented that it will be solved in later updates."
"It can be improved by combining the web application firewall (WAF) facility."
"Load balancing needs improvement. It needs better integration. I heard f5 works as a DNS operator which is not available in this solution. It would be better if that was implemented."
"The solution could be more robust."
