Find out in this report how the two Firewalls solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Fortinet FortiGate protects against internet-based threats, both internal and external. It is scalable, stable, easy to use, and easy to install."
"This solution has helped our organization by having strong functions and a reliable firewall."
"The IPsec tunnels are very easily created, and quite interoperable with devices from other vendors."
"The user interface is relatively easy. The devices are easy to deploy and figure out when you have experience with other security appliances."
"The CLI is robust and powerful, enabling rapid, consistent changes via SSH."
"The most important feature, normally for small business customers, is link load balancing."
"Our project needs to link two sides through the internet. One of these was in Cairo and the other in another city. We used FortiGate as the integrating solution between the two locations, i.e. the Fortinet 30E & 100E."
"The application control features, such as Facebook blocking and Spotify blocking, are the most valuable."
"All the features are valuable, in my opinion, but for us the most important features are the network security, application control, and web server protection. Sophos Sandstorm is another good feature off the top of my head."

"I don't like that anything more than very basic reporting is not included."
"When we cluster the two Fortinet FortiGate boxes together we have some issues."
"The UI could be improved."
"There are problems with the custom reporting of the unique traffic. The data is there, but it is too difficult for us to extract."
"The cloud features can be improved."

"The reporting could be better."
"The solution could have a bit more functionality."
"There are some issues with conversion and user roles when upgrading to Cyberoam."
"It would be nice to have features like the network access control (NAC) that Cisco has for Identity Services Engine. In the next release, I would also like to see an increase in the performance of the processing units."

Hi Rahul,
I'm an IT consultant, specializing in networking and firewalls. Actually, I'm implementing Fortigates 100F and Sophos XGS2100 in customers' infrastructures.
They are two big advantages for Sophos XGS:
1) The second CPU XStream, dedicated to firewalling and UTM functions, like Web Filtering, Web Application Firewall, IPS, etc.: https://news.sophos.com/en-us/...
2) The Sophos "Synchronized Security", interaction with the client protection, centralized in a cloud console: https://www.sophos.com/en-us/c...
With this Xstream processor (ASIC), an XGS2100 is more powerful than a Fortigate 100F...and no way with pricing, Sophos is cheaper.
Regards,
A.Rastello
Hi Rahul, I agree with the answers from Michael and Alexandre, the most important decision to take is to determine what your requirements are.
I have the Sophos XGS 2100 firewall in our customers' environment and its performance is much more powerful, for the reason of the Xstream processor that takes a little time to scan HTTPS protocols and apply TLS policies over the connections.
We have a lot of Sophos firewalls in the field. I agree to the answer from Alexandre. The Sophos Firewall is the more powerfull firewall. But maybe it's a good idea to explore the XGS 3100 because of the hardware like 10gbit.
With kind regards,
