Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features are security and privacy because you installed it on your server, within your company premises, not in the cloud.""The most valuable features are its ease of use, excellent pricing, and it is platform agnostic.""It's relatively simple to use.""We use the solution as a mail server. It connects with Outlook and is used for calendaring and similar tasks.""What I like most about Kerio Connect is that it supports ActiveSync, and that is its most critical feature. The solution is also a nice, simple, robust, and stable mail server.""We have contacted technical support a handful of times and received some assistance.""The user interface is good.""Kerio Connect is secure, flexible, and easy to control from the user interface. It has many security features able to be controlled from one place, such as anti-spam. I have found it very convenient. Additionally, you can analyze log files and share folders which is helpful."

"All of Exchange's features are valuable. For example, we can configure the MAPI profile, IM profile, or mobile profile.""It gives me benefit in terms of integration with other services such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive. It makes my work much easier.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Exchange is the email storage is on the cloud. We don't have to delete emails often.""The technical support is fine.""It is user friendly.""It is easy to use and we can allow many users because now our users are scattered They over a wide area. We can use it from anywhere. That is the main benefit for us.""The most valuable features are that you can exchange information, tasks, attachments, and enhance the process in a short amount of time.""Our customers are satisfied with the features included in Microsoft Exchange."

Cons
"Most of our clients use Outlook and Kerio Connect. Occasionally, Kerio can be a bit slow. They could make it faster to get onto the web interface without so much load time. It's just slow with Outlook, however, for some reason.""We are considering switching to Microsoft Exchange. One reason is that it doesn't improve our workflow and doesn't integrate well with Microsoft 365 applications.""The search and archiving documentation capabilities need to be stronger.""It could be simpler to use and install, but I still wouldn't use it because there isn't a compelling use case.""The solution could improve the redundancy because we only have one copy of the Kerio Connect server on our hardware. The next step for us is to move to the cloud and if Kerio does not have a cloud version available they should release one""You cannot integrate with other services like Google Docs, Google Assistant, Google Calendar, etc.""Having a native Outlook map integration would make Kerio Connect better.""I would like to see better support from their support team."

"Exchange can be a little finicky, sometimes, or flakey. Last week, for example, I had gone into my calendar to check on some briefings that I had established, and then went back into my inbox, and suddenly the view had changed. I had no idea what it was that I had done, and I couldn't figure out how to get that view back. I took a productivity hit as a result of that, trying to fix it, due to the fact that it just wasn't what I wanted. It wasn't what I was used to working with. Two different tech support people had to work with me in order to get the view back to what I wanted just so I could be productive.""It doesn't work very well on a virtual machine. We had to move it around. There are also issues when you try to move it between computers.""There are limitations in terms of the number of emails that can be sent in a minute, which makes it a little difficult for the marketing folks.""I'd like the archiving process to be faster.""Microsoft Exchange could improve security. They can elevate a lot of security features.""The only thing that could be improved is the pricing.""An area for improvement would be the convenience of working with Azure services from Exchange on-premise installations.""The main problem with Microsoft products is that we're constantly required to install patches and fixes."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is about $3 per mailbox per month."
  • "The price of Kerio Connect is better when comparing it to others solutions."
  • "The solution's pricing depends on how long you plan to keep it because you pay on a per-year basis. You might have a one-time setup cost for something like Microsoft Exchange or a Linux mail server. I'd say this solution is expensive on a per-year basis, almost 2000-3000 dollars annually. It doesn't seem to pay off yet, so we're considering switching to another product."

  • "They are flexible when it comes to pricing, unlike most of the other vendors I have dealt with."
  • "It's working very well. There is no problem, but the price is not the best."
  • "Its price is okay."
  • "It's a little bit expensive."
  • "Its price is very affordable, and basically, it is the standard of the industry. We have the Exchange 365 subscription, which includes the usage of Exchange Online. I don't know the specific cost, but it is the retail price of Microsoft 365 E3 licenses. Microsoft's licensing is not very easy to understand. Microsoft changes rules every other day, which makes it difficult for us to understand the licensing not only for Exchange but also for other products. It can sometimes be really complex to understand what you need to have in order to comply with Microsoft licensing."
  • "Microsoft doesn't have a unit price, it's based on the quantity, and they offer great discounts."
  • "We are currently using enterprise licenses for the solution. They are different pricing models available. There are individual, cloud-based, and enterprise licenses all with different pricing models. The larger the number of users, the lesser the price. For small to medium companies like us, we feel it is expensive."
  • "Its price is fair."
