Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It has helped streamline and simply track status and collection of data from suppliers and other internal departments.""I run my own business and the solution allows me to invoice and pay for additional resources. It has helped me in terms of invoicing, quoting, and doing recruitment measures.""The usability of QuickBase largely depends on how you design your workflows within the platform. If you keep them simple and straightforward, it can be a highly usable product.""There's a lot of stability in QuickBase...I really appreciate the processing part of QuickBase, especially considering how we're able to get information in real time instead of having to wait.""QuickBase reminds me when a software license or a hardware support contract is near expiration so that I can initiate our company's procurement process in time and not miss a deadline.""It has superb ease of use and no code needed to create and build apps and databases.""Considering factors like functionality and price, the product proves to be worth the investment.""It is low-code. We are able to go in and create apps quickly. It is very helpful for the size of our company. We're a mid-size company, and at this moment, we don't need anything externally. We don't have to go out and consult a consulting firm to build something from the ground up. So, the ease of that and being able to get development quickly up and running has been good for us."

"The fact that you can have different access groups is definitely a pro for Smartsheet. It also has the ability to integrate with a lot of tools.""Smartsheet offers more than Project because it's similar to a table-based, database-type system. It's like a hybrid between Excel and project software. We were able to enter the formulas and do much of the automation. We added budgets to it and linked them to a vendor page. Smartsheet let us integrate the budget into the project seamlessly. With Project, we needed to open up Excel.""It is my favorite project management tool. The reason for that is that it is very flexible. It is much easier to use than Microsoft Project in terms of creating custom fields. It is very similar to Excel. So, people understand it, which makes it a little bit easier to use for most users.""The management aspect is the most valuable. You can also prioritize tasks and then view tasks by priorities as passports.""Smartsheet does a really good job of creating Gantt charts. Export to Excel feature was also very useful.""What I found most valuable in Smartsheet is its project customization feature. It's a great solution because you can add in your own WBS. You can see it in Jira style, Kanban, and you can even do Agile and Waterfall. Another feature that's valuable in the solution is when you have those connections, you have that API, you have a sandbox, and you can make a solution, it's a tremendous product because you can pull data.""For doing project plans what was really valuable is the ability to do a predecessor.""As I am in the corporate legal department, I have to deal with a number of contracts and sometimes it's hard to keep up with email transactions. Having the tracker sheet and being able to build dashboards and workflow has been quite valuable."

Cons
"Access to more standard default layouts and sample builds would be useful, and access to more training on use and flexibility.""There is room for improvement in terms of user-friendliness.""I would like to see better options for producing paper reports from Quick Base, rather than viewing things exclusively on screen.""Unfortunately, there is still no new report formatting available natively, and would still require 3rd party developers to help with that. .""The mobile app has improved, but it still needs work.""Its UI needs improvement. They should improve it and make it a little bit more modern. We should also be able to have more real-time information that connects with other software platforms. It has an open API, but it doesn't always connect with some of the other platforms that we would like to utilize. These are probably two of the biggest things for us, and hopefully, they will keep ensuring that in the future, they continually build QuickBase to be a little bit more efficient in that regard.""The improved developer interface in some areas can be difficult to use for complex items.""This rule: The Maximum is 60 rules. We need to provide more in order to improve."

More QuickBase Cons →

"Areas for improvement in Smartsheet include better integration capabilities with other technologies through APIs and addressing limitations in reporting functionalities.""I think it is all going to be about APIs in the future and I don't think Smartsheet is doing a lot in that regard. They have some integrations with Jira, but you have to pay for them.""Lacks the ability to edit attachments within the solution.""Smartsheet could improve by having seamless integration with Azure Board.""Asana has a modern look and feel, particularly its agile project management interface featuring movable cards between columns.""I think that the mobile interface needs to be improved. If you cannot access it through your laptop, I'd prefer to have that option on the mobile, but I don't think that it's user-friendly and easy to navigate.""It would be beneficial to enhance user-friendliness and make it less complex while maintaining its overall excellence as a product.""They provide a limited number of sheets which is not enough."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing for QuickBase is pretty straightforward, It is based on a per user/per month licensing fee."
  • "We felt the pricing and licensing for QuickBase were easy enough to understand, fair and competitive."
  • "Quickbase is probably not the cheapest app out there. That said, it is worth its weight in gold. There is no other app that I know of in the market today that can do what Quickbase does."
  • "You have to negotiate the price because it varies based on the number of users you have, as well as how much cloud storage space you need."
  • "It is probably about 300 per license per person. There is just the licensing cost. There are no additional costs."
  • "The product is cheap when compared to other products."
  • "The pricing for the tier my company used included ten seats and the subcontractor, amounting to approximately $18,000 USD per year."
  • "The solution is expensive and geared toward enterprise-level clients."

  • "This licensing is straightforward and they charge per user."
  • "Its licensing is on a yearly basis. I was responsible for negotiating the price with the Smartsheet team, but I don't remember what the price was. Its standard license probably was around 5,000 to 6,000 a year. The enterprise version is significantly more expensive."
  • "Smartsheet only requires licenses for project managers. When we were using Asana, we had to purchase a license for everyone who wanted to access their tasks and use the system. That gets costly fast. It was one of the main reasons we left Asana. As Asana and these other tools scale, they become way more expensive."
  • "There would be more extensive usage if the solution were cheaper. It's really expensive right now, and that's why we provide a few licenses for admins. The rest of them are just users without admin privileges."
  • "I would assume there is a licensing fee. I don't think that it is free."
  • "It is less expensive than Microsoft Project for enterprise or Oracle Primavera by an order of magnitude. If you buy a Microsoft Project license, it's probably $300 or so by itself, whereas Smartsheet is probably less than $50 per head."
  • "For a normal license, like the one I had: I had my own Smartsheet because I wanted to play with it and I didn't want to mess with what I was doing in Verizon, so I paid $200 monthly, and it gave me all the same functionalities, so I could do whatever I wanted for $200. The problem is if you have anyone else working on it or deploying on it, it's $200 a month for every single person who's deployed on it, that's working on it as an owner or an administrator, so owners and administrators are the only ones who can change, edit, and add data to worksheets and columns. Depending on the size of your organization, Smartsheet can be costly. As for implementing its Control Center, Smartsheet forces you to have three people come in: it's a minimum of three people from Smartsheet for three months who will provide you the solutions for the Control Center side, and that's $150 an hour, so it can become very expensive. For my company, not having the Control Center would save on the setup fees and then the $20,000 a year, because the Control Center of Smartsheet is a yearly subscription of $20,000."
  • "Smartsheet has many licensing models. You need to add the package that best suits your requirements. The license is paid per user and it is monthly. The cost was approximately $7 per PC, $15 for professional, and $33 for the enterprise plan."
