Tenable.sc has a user-friendly interface, while Wiz has easy-to-read dashboards and agentless scanning. Tenable.sc needs to work on its penetration testing, pricing, reporting, integrations, and accuracy of vulnerability assessment. Users have struggled with support difficulties. On the other hand, Wiz requires preventive controls, refined reporting, customizable dashboards, improved risk assessment, more frequent scans, and better tenant management.
Service and Support: Tenable.sc's customer service has received both positive and negative feedback, as some customers have appreciated the assistance provided while others have faced delays. In contrast, Wiz's customer service has been praised for its exceptional technical support and accessibility to account representatives.
Ease of Deployment: Tenable.sc may take longer and needs integration, while Wiz is a low-maintenance SaaS. Tenable.sc is easy to implement, but Wiz offers immediate value and visibility.
Pricing: Tenable.sc's pricing varies depending on the number of IP addresses scanned and additional costs for advanced support. Opinions on pricing differ. Wiz's pricing is deemed fair and straightforward, but there are concerns about potential price increases and lack of clarity in pricing. Wiz's pricing is viewed as reasonable given its capabilities and features in comparison to Tenable.sc.
ROI: Tenable.sc helps save on manpower costs and ensures a positive return on investment. On the other hand, Wiz focuses on improving asset management, container image maintenance, and compliance monitoring, and continues to add new features.
Comparison Results: Tenable.sc is the preferred choice over Wiz due to its comprehensive features, accurate vulnerability detection, and user-friendly interface. Tenable.sc offers advanced scanning, prioritization, and automation that make it easier for users to track remediation progress and validate compliance. Although Wiz is commended for its ability to provide context and prioritize risks in the cloud environment, users have identified areas for improvement, such as the need for preventive controls and more refined reporting capabilities.
"We really love the Security Center dashboard. It basically performs vulnerability scanning and then outputs a vulnerability data."
"I find Tenable SC to be a very scalable product."
"Tenable.sc's best features are the availability model, accident management, and scoring."
"Tenable.sc is user-friendly."
"The feature we've liked most recently was being able to take the YARA rules from FireEye and put them into Tenable's scan for the most recent SolarWinds exploit. That was really useful."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the vulnerability assessment."
"The tool's dashboard and reporting capabilities match our company's needs since we are able to modify the basic view to create a new dashboard, and it works out very well for our needs."
"It basically reviews our threat landscape vulnerability."
"The vulnerability management modules and the discovery and inventory are the most valuable features. Before using Wiz, it was a very manual process for both. After implementing it, we're able to get all of the analytics into a single platform that gives us visibility across all the systems in our cloud. We're able to correspond and understand what the vulnerability landscape looks like a lot faster."
"The security baseline and vulnerability assessments is the valuable feature."
"Out of all the features, the one item that has been most valuable is the fact that Wiz puts into context all the pieces that create an issue, and applies a particular risk evaluation that helps us prioritize when we need to address a misconfiguration, vulnerability, or any issue that would put our environment into risk."
"With Wiz, we get timely alerts for leaked data or any vulnerabilities already existing in our environment."
"The automation roles are essential because we ultimately want to do less work and automate more. The dashboards are easy to read and visually pleasing. You can understand things quickly, which makes it easy for our other teams. The network and infrastructure teams don't know as much about security as we do, so it helps to have a tool that's accessible and nice to look at."
"The first thing that stood out was the ease of installation and the quick value we got out of the solution."
"The product supports out-of-the-box reporting with context about the asset and allows us to perform complex custom queries on UI."
"The CSPM module has been the most effective. It was easy to deploy and covered all our accounts through APIs, requiring no agents. Wiz provides instant visibility into high-level risks that we need to address."
"It's good at creating information, it's good creating dashboards, it's good at creating reports, but if you want to take that reporting metadata and put it into another tool, that is a little bit lacking."
"In terms of configuration, there is some level of flexibility that we are not able to achieve."
"The web application scanning area can be improved."
"The solution needs to improve its support. I would like to see a bird's eye view of my network architecture. I would also like to see the continuous view feature in the tool."
"If I want to have a very low-managed scan policy, it's a lot of work to create something which is very basic. If I use a tool like Nmap, all I have to do is download it, install it, type in the command, and it's good to go. In Security Center, I have to go through a lot of work to create a policy that's very basic."
"At times we have had the typical bugs."
"The reporting needs a lot of work on the template."
"For downloading reports, we have to go to the scan and then we have to go to the reports and download the Excel or CSV or PDF. I think these menus and clicks can be minimized."
"One significant issue is that the searches are case-sensitive, so finding a misconfigured resource can become very challenging."
"The solution's container security could be improved."
"The only small pain point has been around some of the logging integrations. Some of the complexities of the script integrations aren't supported with some of the more automated infrastructure components. So, it's not as universal. For example, they have great support for cloud formation and other services, but if you're using another type of management utility or governance language for your infrastructure-as-code automation components, it becomes a little bit trickier to navigate that."
"The only thing that needs to be improved is the number of scans per day."
"We would like to see improvements to executive-level reporting and data reporting in general, which we understand is being rolled out to the platform."
"We wish there were a way, beyond providing visibility and automated remediation, to wait on a given remediation, due to a critical aspect, such as the cost associated with a particular upgrade... We would like to see preventive controls that can be applied through Wiz to protect against vulnerabilities that we're not going to be able to remediate immediately."
"We're looking at some of the data compliance stuff that they've got Jon offer. I know they're looking at container security, which we gonna be looking at next."
"Wiz's reporting capabilities could be refined a bit. They are making headway on that, but more executive-style dashboards would be nice. They just implemented a community aspect where you can share documents and feedback. This was something users had been requesting for a while. They are listening to customer feedback and making changes."
