We performed a comparison between Acronis Cyber Protect and Arcserve UDP based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Backup and Recovery solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable feature of Acronis Backup is the data recovery and restoration details."
"All the necessary features required to set up a proper backup are already present in Acronis Backup."
"It makes a full image of the hard drive. If a hard drive fails, all we do is recover to another hard drive."
"Acronis Backup is easy to use, intuitive, and has high performance."
"From my perspective, the most valuable features in Acronis Cyber Protect include ransomware protection and antivirus. These features not only add significant value but also play a crucial role in closing deals. When selling backup for Microsoft 365, these security features, like ransomware protection and antivirus, serve as a starting point to offer backup and protection."
"The solution was easy to install and to deploy."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that you can archive backups quite easily and minimize the amount of space you're using."
"It actually does its job very well and has interesting capabilities, but it has the most awful interface."
"The most valuable features of this solution are that I can by just one click, copy and paste anything that I would want. I do not have to restore the whole virtual machine."
"The product provides instant and virtual standbys."
"The ROI is very good because of the speed of the backup."
"It is a very stable solution...It is a scalable solution."
"The product's deployment process was straightforward."
"The solution has no limitations because it does backup for Linux and Windows."
"The ability to switch between different hardware platforms and utilization tools are some of this solution's most valuable features."
"The ease of use is the best feature of the product."
"This is not a feature-rich solution."
"The tool's dashboard for daily operations is useful, but I find that it could benefit from enhancements, particularly in terms of reporting. While exporting reports, the format is not fancy as it appears on the dashboard. The exported files are typically in Excel CSV or PDF format."
"There are a lot of products out there that are a little bit stronger than Acronis where AV is concerned."
"The backing up of virtual machines in VMware and Nutanix needs better integration and the performance of the solution needs improvement."
"The UI performance can be slow at times, especially when handling operations like checking backup status or initiating a restore. The response time for these actions could be improved."
"In some cases, at the time of reinstallation, some disasters happen. For the licensing on the computer the name of the computer and domain, everything is removed from the registry level. Then we have to install the Acronis from the start for it to work properly. Otherwise, the Acronis software will cause a lot of trouble at the time of reinstallation. That's where they need to improve the product. In the case people want to install the same software with the same hardware, it should not stop me."
"On the cloud side, security could always be better."
"Because Acronis Backup is an on-premises solution, there is extra overhead. It's harder to manage, and there's no real remote access. You have to physically log in to the machine to manage it. The reporting feature works fine, and you will be able to send out reports. However, that is where it stops. The deployment could be improved and could be through a network chain. If we need to deploy two machines that are not connected to the internet but connected to two different networks, it would be great to have a machine with dual mix that has access to the backup server and to those machines. It would be like a relay that you can install on the machine with a two-mix, and that machine can then connect to your backup server and to the other machines. You should be able to see the other machines on that network and be able to deploy to it and push jobs to it."
"The technical support of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The speed of restores should be improved. We have found the speed of large restores rather slow."
"The initial setup was complex."
"I think that the price could still be a bit cheaper and I do not like that they have been purchased by Arcserve."
"I don't know whether the tool has VMware integrations. It would be good to cover this area if it doesn't have those."
"Every time I change the disc, I have to do a full backup."
"We cannot restore each user's mailbox. Each user's mailbox should be independently restorable. Also, this solution is very slow. If you select all of the servers, it runs for a long time... It needs to be faster. Finally, If anything happens to one server we should be able to switch to another server."
"The support could be more knowledgeable and faster."

I agree with @Syed Abid Hussain.
Arcserve is a true DR / Ransomware enabled solution for all businesses and when compared apples to apples to other solutions, very affordable. It is available in cloud, hybrid cloud and appliance, your choice. Use the cloud solution and keep what you have if you like, or replace it all with ARCSERVE.
Is it good? I think it is underrated personally. Arcserve just received PC Editors choice, which isn't too shabby. I've worked with Arcserve for a while and it is a "SET AND FORGET" solution when configured properly. I also know many who use it who only have issues due to misconfiguring the software. Never place it directly on your domain is a starter suggestion.
Arcserve gives you:
What doesn't Acronis do?
So it truly depends upon what you are really looking for in a solution. I hope this helps.
Acronis is good but with very limited features also expensive.
Arcserve has more features like Integrated DR, ransomware security, malware detection. different backups support, multiple hardware support. Also, pricing is lower than Acronis.
if you need just backup service Acronis is good while Arcserve UDP is a full-fledged complete suite for small, medium & large-scale businesses.
