"One of the nice things about FortiGate is that it can be deployed on the cloud or on-premises. You can actually do both. That's the biggest reason why I stick with this solution as opposed to something like Cisco Meraki. Another nice thing is that I can log directly into a FortiGate or get to it through their FortiCloud access products. They're pretty reliable and consistent. One of the reasons why I started using the product was their single pane of management. I can deploy their line of firewalls in conjunction with their switching and access points, and I can manage the entire network from one interface. I don't have to log into one interface for the firewall, another one for the access points, and another one for the switches. These firewalls have access point controller functionality built right into the system, so I don't even have to purchase additional devices to manage them."
"The solution is very user-friendly."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate are the APIs. They are the most widely known."
"It is user friendly, and has all the features you need."
"The SD-WAN is the most valuable feature."
"The stability and scalability of this solution are satisfactory. Its SD-WAN, VPN, and URL filtering features are very useful."
"The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiGate is URL filtering."
"Workflows across the company ecosystem have can flow smoothly without experiencing any challenges."
"The Capsule solution and application filters are the most valuable. It is pretty straightforward to implement, and it also has good stability and scalability. Their technical support is also really good."
"The ease of administration with the cloud management extension and the cloud licensing model is valuable."
"The most valuable feature is that we can use the same manager server that we use on our own Check Point firewalls. We integrated CloudGuard on that manager and we can use the same kind of protections that we use on the on-prem firewalls, like the IPS and antivirus policy. We can have the same kind of protection on the Cloud environment that we have on-premise."
"The most valuable feature is threat prevention."
"Auto-scaling and zero touch are valuable features."
"We primarily secure our network using CloudGuard Network Security's next-generation firewall features, including anti-spam, IPS, and URL filtering. Our chosen package for the go-to-market strategy is NGTP. For customers seeking more features, we provide options to upgrade to the tool's advanced packages."
"The feature most valuable to me is the NDTX blade that Check Point provides, and I like how the solution is not vulnerable."
"The interface and dashboards are good."
"I'm using most of its features such as antivirus, anti-spam, and WAF. I'm also using its DNS Security and DNS sinkhole features, as well as the URL filtering and application security features."
"Palo Alto Networks NG Firewalls saves us time."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to deeply analyze the connection or connection type."
"With its single pane of glass, it makes monitoring and troubleshooting a bit more homogeneous. We are not looking at multiple platforms and monitoring management tools. It is more efficient from that perspective. It is more of a common monitoring and control system for multiple aspects of what used to be different systems. It provides efficiency and time savings."
"The most valuable features are the threat prevention and policy-based routing features."
"The user ID, Wildfire, UI, and management configuration are all great features."
"One of the most valuable features of Palo Alto Networks NG Firewalls is application symmetries."
"I would like Fortinet to add more automation to FortiGate."
"The improvement is related to logs. Instead of the CLI, we should be able to have more insights into the logs of the firewall in the GUI."
"Maybe they could make some features more accessible, such as a way to translate directions between two networks that share the same subnets."
"We have an issue with hotel guest vouchers."
"Technical support is good but the response time could be faster."
"We would like to see an upgrade to the VPN feature, we are using the VPN from outside of our office and there is a limitation to 10 connections, more connections would be suitable."
"The solution's framework needs to be frequently updated in order to have a stable solution."
"I would like to have logs, monitoring, and reporting for a month without extra fees."
"The costs are high."
"Micro-Segmentation functionality for EAST-WEST traffic is not native and requires integration with a third-party OEM."
"While today we can manage some scopes, there are still some segments in the OSI layer we cannot manage."
"We are at the place where we are looking at better integration with the management system. We use an MDS today, and it is self-deployed. We want to get to the Smart-1 Cloud, but we do not know what that looks like today because it does not support a multi-domain setup. Smart-1 should either be able to do multi-domain or there should be some form of taking a multi-domain environment and putting it in Smart-1."
"New features have been introduced recently, but they have not yet been integrated into CloudGuard Vsec."
"The business and product development team should introduce a high-end feedback collection mechanism and analyze the customer requirements constructively."
"It needs to cover additional kinds of infrastructure, like containers and serverless options. It's somewhat limited in that area."
"Check Point CloudGuard Network Security needs to improve the management of the actual firewalls. Improvement is also needed for the consolidated UI of different security aspects."
"The pricing could be improved. They need to work on the setup over the firewall, VLAN, and PPPoE."
"I would like integration with Evident.io and RedLock."
"I would like a collaboration system and reporting ASA policy needs to be smarter."
"This solution cannot be implemented on-premises; it's only a cloud solution. The price is high as well."
"I would like them to bring in some features that would encourage traffic shaping or bandwidth routing, like other UTM firewalls, because the solution should be capable of limiting the bandwidth for rules."
"The tech support was once great, but now it is poor. The tech support has gone south. It is really difficult. I had a Priority 1 case last a week in their queue, and after multiple complaints, I finally got somebody to take the case. These are things that are unacceptable in the business world. They could train their employees better."
"Palo Alto needs to provide more support during the design phase and with proposals. They need to be more proactive, try to anticipate issues, and then help us to implement the transformation quickly."
"Once in a while, they have new features being released that can be buggy. My criticism is more general to all sorts of network or security devices. In general, everybody is releasing less-tested software. Then, it usually ends up that the first few customers who get a new release need to end up troubleshooting it."
