We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Because we can use automation processes with this platform, we have been able to free up our IT department's time.""The product works very well with our virtual environment.""The most valuable feature is the data center communication.""Once we have it running, it should be easier for us to program our IT rather than going case-by-case, by switches and different elements, or program it by hand.""PBR has been beneficial for network efficiency.""Configures from a single point and commands don't need to be configured on the spine and leaf side.""The stability is quite good.""The most valuable feature is the unified fabric."

"It is easy to manage, easy to maintain, and stable. If you set up everything alright, it will give years without any issues.""Scalability is not a problem.""The most valuable feature is its user-friendly management dashboard.""Routing, switching, and wireless network security are the valuable features of Cisco Enterprise Network Functions Virtualization.""The support system that they have in place is very good and they are easy to reach.""Network Security is one of the most valuable features of Cisco Enterprise Network Functions Virtualization."

Cons
"I would like to be able to test the upgrades in a simulation before implementing them in production because not everyone has a lab.""The additional features I would like to see included in the next releases are support for our policy-based routing. There are endpoint issues that are there now in the code. Hopefully, these will get fixed in the future code.""Its graphical user interface (GUI) is not as user-friendly as it could be.""We're still in the process of doing the migration. We haven't migrated completely all of our applications out of our legacy into it yet. It was challenging at first, but getting easier now that we're starting to get into it.""The first setup was difficult because it is a very different discipline than other traditional network deployments. The terminology is very different, so the first time can be difficult.""They should improve the GUI, make it simpler. They also need to improve its integration with other automation tools.""The interface is sometimes slow. I receive a lot of weird errors when I try to install apps, such as contract apps, which should give me a nice visualization of all the contracts. However, it just doesn't load, etc.""The integration has room for improvement. There should be a drag-and-drop interface for configuring the integration where you connect some arrows to boxes, and the system takes care of the configuration. Right now, they have something similar, but it's limited. You have to take care of some things yourself. That is one area that the solution can work on. It's easy now, but it's much easier in other solutions."

"The solution's orchestration part could be improved.""One of the things that can be improved is trimming all mobile numbers so that it aids in swiftly acquiring information for tablets or any necessary solution.""There is room for improvement in enhancing compatibility with other solutions and vendors.""This is a software solution, which is less stable than a hardware solution by definition.""It would be helpful if they offered modularized upgrades, such as additional memory or a faster processor.""In terms of what could be improved, I would say the cost. The SDN hardware especially is much too expensive, specifically 799 and 9000."
