We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We can provide tons of applications with different settings, behaviors, and operating systems. It is the same way for the user. Then, we are totally transparent for the user to use a lot of totally different applications, which is the most important part of Citrix today.""My focus has primarily been on publishing virtual applications.""XenApp is a fast, secure and reliable solution for remote connections that is completely different than and superior to older Windows solutions.""Instead of pointing to any single feature, I would say the most valuable aspect of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops is the overall product itself. Virtualized apps and desktops, in theory and in practice, are very helpful to users.""The app protection feature is one of the most valuable because it provides good security, as nobody is going to be able to look into your screen while you are sharing the screen. And if someone has installed a keylogger in your system, your keystrokes will be jumbled up and they would not make any sense to the keylogger. App protection is one of the coolest security features that I have encountered on any platform.""There are many features that I like, but the stability over the Internet is exceptional. Even if there's bandwidth fluctuation or network jitter, it performs well, offering a seamless experience to end-users without noticeable disruptions.""The installation and maintenance are good.""I use Citrix DaaS to connect to devices."

"The solution is perfect for Linux users.""The most helpful feature of OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is that it allows you to consume heavy applications that usually have a lot of latency. I also like that the solution is fast and has a friendly UI."

Cons
"Dependency on server virtualization after v7.x is an issue which I encountered in small environments.""It would help if it were a little simpler. It's a bit complicated and we have hired Citrix administrators. But it's a good solution.""We encounter compatibility issues related to hardware, scanners, and other devices.""The initial setup is complex.""Latency is also a major problem when adopting Citrix for video editing software or 3D editing software, especially editing 4K video or large file size. The Citrix virtualized solution becomes too slow, so we cannot use the VDI.""Where improvement could be driven is in terms of clarity as to the functionality of some of the solutions. If you go back to the older Citrix Xen products that we had, we understood those really well. As we've come into the new workstation premium suite, there is a lot of additional functionality that we perhaps have not yet fully exploited. It is not because we can't, but simply because we don't yet understand the depth of functionality that's offered.""Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops are not easy to set up. However, I have the experience and I can do it easily. It could be easier to set up.""Pricing can be lower and roaming profiles need to be fixed to work consistently."

More Citrix DaaS (formerly Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service) Cons →

"The performance of the graphical interface needs improvement. They should add some CPU to speed graphic acceleration.""An area for improvement in OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is the installation process because you need some technical knowledge to install it. What's lacking in OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is a help portal for users to ask questions and seek assistance."
