We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.""Fortinet FortiEDR's scalability is quite good, and you can add licenses to the solution.""NGAV and EDR features are outstanding.""The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls.""Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration.""It is stable and scalable.""We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats.""This is stable and scalable."

"The UI is simple and self-explanatory. Everything is easy to understand.""Their endpoint is pretty flawless. There is no lag on the machines at all. Even though I have a good overview of all the machines, that's pretty much the most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon.""CrowdStrike Falcon is a very light solution. It does not use too much processor or RAM.""The most valuable aspects of CrowdStrike Falcon for me are its device observability, identification, and software and OS recognition.""Enables us to understand what processes are running on the system, what registry keys have been enabled.""The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon for me is its unified sensor, applicable across all models.""Because it is security product and acts like an AIML smart product, not merely based on daily/weekly updates and signatures.""Scalability hasn't been an issue for us."

"We use the solution for Zero-day protection."

Cons
"There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""The solution is not stable.""We find the solution to be a bit expensive.""I haven't seen the use of AI in the solution.""It takes about two business days for initial support, which is too slow in urgent situations.""Intelligence aspects need improvement""The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location.""The support needs improvement."

"I would like to see a little bit more in the offline scanning ability. This just comes from my background in what I have done in other positions. They only scan on demand, so I always have this fear that we sometimes maybe email out a dormant virus and can be held liable for that. That is something where I would like to see a little bit more robustness to the tool.""CrowdStrike Falcon by itself does not supply in-depth reporting.""The management of the solution could improve.""Basically, they don't cover legacy OS or applications. That's the only issue we're concerned about""CrowdStrike Falcon could improve the EDR functionality. Once the functionality of the solution improves, it will be even better in the market and able to compete with Carbon Black.""The content-filtering features for children could be improved. We have young grandchildren aged 12 and 8. My daughter, their mother, wants to keep them from getting in trouble on the net. She looked at all these other solutions from Google, Microsoft, etc., and she couldn't figure out how to make any of those work. I told her that I bet CrowdStrike could handle this. Sure enough, CrowdStrike can do exactly that. It's the same solution that the Defense Department gets. It works, but it's a little complicated to implement. It could be simpler to set the policies.""This solution is relatively expensive.""Dashboard creation is one of the areas for improvement in CrowdStrike Falcon. Sometimes, management asks for a custom dashboard, so my team has to collect data from CrowdStrike Falcon, integrate that in Splunk, then create the dashboard in Splunk. The Splunk dashboard is more elaborate, so the CrowdStrike Falcon dashboard needs improvement. Another area for improvement in the tool is the malware detection report, as it needs to be more detailed and include some graphics so that if you want to present that data in a nutshell, it's easier to do. For example, the report should consist of some graphical representation that shows a month's worth of data. In terms of an additional feature I'd like CrowdStrike Falcon to have, it's the device posture assessment feature that detects the device posture within the network. Whichever device connects to the corporate network, my company should be able to analyze the device posture. Then there should be communication with the network, which means that as soon as a device connects, CrowdStrike Falcon can assess the device posture, detect its corporate asset, and decide whether it should be allowed on the network."

"The tool's dashboard needs to load since it is not responsive and takes time to load."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

CrowdStrike Falcon offers advanced threat detection, real-time visibility, easy interface, and responsive customer support. It enhances workflow and efficiency, promotes collaboration, streamlines processes, and boosts productivity. With features like incident response options, customizable alerts, and proactive threat hunting, it helps protect organizations from malware and ransomware attacks.
