We performed a comparison between Domo and Tableau based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two BI (Business Intelligence) Tools solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The ease of use, overall, is one of the valuable features, as is the ease of setup. Other than making sure IT was aware of, and agreed with our proceeding, we did not need IT for any of the setup. The ease of setup is more valuable than you might think. The ease of configuring the security policies, setting up groups, and setting up personalized data permissions so that only certain people can see certain data — that stuff is amazing... Domo really is extraordinarily full-featured, but it's really easy to use."
"Domo has a lot of connections using APIs where you can use data from different databases, such as NoSQLs, SQL databases, and other connections. These connections exist to obtain data and transform whatever that you want."
"With ETL transformations in SQL lists, you often write a lot of queries. You have to build a bunch of code for the data. With Domo, one of the pieces we have is Magic ETL. In Magic ETL, you don't need to write code. You don't need to be a specialist in SQL or any database query language."
"The best thing is that the data storage is pretty much free. I can store as much data as I want, from different sources."
"The fact that you can add any data source is valuable. The entire data handling suite they have, all the apps, etc., is pretty amazing. One of the key things, not being a techie or a data-warehouse guy, is that you can connect data sources, and do all kinds of pretty amazing things."
"The ability to create custom connectors was useful because you never know, with customers, what platform they want to utilize or what data they have. It gave us a lot of flexibility in being able to bring data in from different places."
"The user interface is quite good."
"The dashboarding itself was pretty easy. So both the front and the back end were positive in this case."
"The solution deployment was straightforward."
"The best thing I like about Tableau is that you don't have to go for creating; it is calculated free."
"It is very easy to create dashboards, charts, and graphs."
"The action feature which Tableau has is very useful for us. If we click on one visualization, it will pass the value to another visualization. That interactivity within different visualizations is the most valuable feature of Tableau."
"The use of a storyboard helps the flow of the data visualisation."
"I consider Tableau to be the best analytical tool available. It's really handy to use and can be used by non-technical people."
"Visualization attributes: Marks – Color, Size, Label, etc.. Easily Accessible and Intuitive."
"Tableau is easy to use and it has great predictive features."
"If Domo had a Copilot feature, you could interact with the graphs and talk to the graphs and tables."
"Their organization or client service didn't always keep up... They took on more and more clients and the processes slowed down a little bit."
"It is expensive."
"Domo or any other BI tool has room for improvement, in particular, in the calculations. User-guided material isn't available for calculations. The tool, though user-friendly, could also be more customizable, especially when you're building a dashboard. Data integration could also be improved in Domo because even if the tool connects to multiple data sources, some hiccups still arise and need to be addressed."
"The preconfigured apps need to be more relevant to allow one, out of the box, to load data in order to use pre-set reports/views."
"Their STK is not up to date and you can't access it on their website. They have a private STK to access resources in Domo."
"If your ETL runs more than 24 hours, it always fails because we are logging a lot of historical data, and there is a restriction on the amount of data (in rows) that you can run. The technical support has not found a solution for this yet."
"One of the improvements that could be made is related to improved storage options."
"We need big servers to perform the operations that we are doing. They should probably relook at its architecture."
"Some of our clients are looking for better UI when using Tableau as they often work with this solution directly."
"The process of embedding the dashboards on external portals and websites could be improved."
"A strict security measure is needed. I believe it is weak in terms of security."
"Licensing and pricing options could be made better so that more users would be able to use it."
"It's already using 32 gigabytes of memory, but the performance is not so good. It's very heavy."
"The ability to use it on MAC machines. As far as I know, this is not possible."
"With Tableau, there is a gap in its ability to handle very large-scale data."

I have been impressed by Northcraft Analytics. Their technology is based on MS Power BI. I would check them out.

Hi Dawn,
I'm happy to help you with your search for a BI solution.
Qlik Sense is a powerful BI platform that offers a wide range of features, including near real-time operational reporting, ad-hoc reporting, analytics, and insights. It is a good choice for businesses that need to make data-driven decisions.
However, it is true that Qlik Sense does not come with a built-in reporting and deployment suite. You will need to add on a third-party product such as Mail & Deploy if you want to create and deploy reports.
Domo, Tableau, and Orbit Analytics are also popular BI platforms that offer reporting capabilities. However, they each have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Domo is known for its ease of use and its ability to connect to a wide range of data sources. However, it can be expensive and it does not offer as many advanced analytics features as some of the other BI platforms.
Tableau is known for its data visualization capabilities. It offers a wide range of pre-built visualizations and templates, making it easy to create professional-looking reports. However, it can be difficult to use for complex data analysis.
Orbit Analytics is a cloud-based BI platform that offers a good balance of features and pricing. It is easy to use and it offers a wide range of data connectors. However, it does not have as many advanced analytics features as some of the other BI platforms.
The best BI platform for you will depend on your specific needs and requirements. If you are looking for a platform that offers near real-time operational reporting, ad-hoc reporting, analytics, and insights, then Qlik Sense is a good choice. However, if you need a platform with a built-in reporting and deployment suite, then you may want to consider Domo, Tableau, or Orbit Analytics.
Here are some additional things to consider when choosing a BI platform:

I think you should first decide which budget you can allocate for it.
You can find "free' tools like Google Looker Studio, which have limited reporting and email capabilities.
I assume other cloud vendors have similar "free" tools.
Other reporting tools can cost from 10's $ per user per month to 100K$ for a year and more.
There is also an open-source tool named Superset
