Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"ESB: Provides all kind of possibilities to resolve business needs. A lot of ready to use services plus custom Java services. I used a lot of them all.""The solution is highly scalable, this is very important for us. It can handle a lot of messages.""The solution offers excellent stability.""SDM: User-friendly tool which allows for a seamless approach to performing hotfixes, if required.""The Messenger Broker is a really good feature.""The features that I have found most valuable are that it is very easy to develop. Most of it is graphical, but we also have the option to add any custom call that you need."

"Valuable features include web service development and cloud connectivity.""Provides connectivity between discrete systems and has availability.""We were able to scale out using multiple application and web servers balanced by hardware load balancers and Weblogic clustering.""I would rate my experience with the initial setup an eight out of ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy.""This is one of the critical products for my company and we use it extensively. We currently use each and every feature of Oracle SOA.""The most valuable feature of the facility, as the partner link, is to try to use third-party services and logic in your own vehicle to orchestrate the information.""It performs better in real-time transactions.""The most valuable features for us are the APIs, which we commonly use, as well as the scheduling capabilities and file transfers."

Cons
"It should include/add more services with the product as per market demand. It should include custom Java services developed by any organization or provide a platform where users/developers can share ideas/custom services, etc.""The solution needs to improve support for new, more recent protocols on the API.""I don't know if the last version has the cloud option, but maybe that could be good. That could be something that is included.""Aurea CX Messenger could improve by making better use of the new APIs""You should not hurry with upgrades without testing the whole product completely.""The improvement is that it should be on the cloud and use web services."

More Aurea CX Messenger Cons →

"Another area of improvement is performance. Because with multiple solutions connecting to the SOA platform, the performance of the SOA platform can be affected in time. So, that could be one area that could be improved with the SOA.""The deployment could be made easier by including add-ons like Hudson and Maven.""If the disk space expansion can be made more flexible, not requiring a database restart, it would be a major benefit.""The web services need to be more robust.""I would like to see divided containers more separately as a microservice.""Other solutions might be better componets such as Salesforce.""An important area that can be improved is the product's data monitoring. When we use the solution for interfacing or end-to-end data monitoring, we want to know exactly where the data is going and exactly where it is failing, or where there is an issue.""Various parts of SOA, BPEL, and so on, each have their own consoles which need to be accessed individually with different logins. It would be better from an admin perspective if all the consoles were accessible via a single login."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Much better than Oracle SOA Suite."
  • "You pay nothing for licensing, because the commercial model is a subscription. Other environments, such as QA and Development, are included in the subscription"
  • "The pricing is not so high."
  • More Aurea CX Messenger Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Oracle pricing is expensive. Support is based on your license. AWS is much better than Oracle in this regard."
  • "It is necessary to evaluate the requirement regarding the platform usage and what the main operation area of the platform will be."
  • "This product is WebLogic based, hence it can be both resource hungry as well as expensive from a licensing point of view."
  • "Based on my knowledge, Oracle SOA Suite doesn't have user-based licensing. It has a system-based licensing model, so you pay for whole systems. Oracle SOA Suite is an expensive solution, so it's a four out of ten for me."
  • "The pricing is not very high as compared to its competitors."
  • "The product is moderately priced."
  • "Oracle SOA Suite is an expensive solution."

Top Answer:The solution's XSLT or XSL Transformation feature was very useful.
Top Answer:The solution’s initial setup is complex and could be improved. A big challenge for Oracle SOA Suite is that you don't get too many technical resources.

    Overview

CX Messenger lets your technology keep pace with your business. Aurea’s industry leading Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) lets you adapt and change your infrastructure with plug-and-play speed and ease.

Oracle SOA Suite is a comprehensive, standards-based software suite to build, deploy and manage integration following the concepts of service-oriented architecture (SOA). The components of the suite benefit from consistent tooling, a single deployment and management model, end-to-end security and unified metadata management. Oracle SOA Suite helps businesses lower costs by allowing maximum re-use of existing IT investments and assets, regardless of the environment (OS, application server, etc.) they run in, or the technology they were built upon. Its easy-to-use, re-use focused, unified application development tooling and end-to-end lifecycle management support further reduces development and maintenance cost and complexity.
