In summary, Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro both offer competitive pricing options, valuable investment returns, and efficient device management capabilities. However, Microsoft Intune could benefit from UI enhancements and improved integration with other Microsoft products, while Jamf Pro excels in quicker setup processes, user-friendly interfaces, and detailed reporting functionalities. Both receive positive feedback on customer service and support, with Microsoft Intune focusing on prompt assistance and Jamf Pro on knowledgeable representatives.
The summary above is based on 207 interviews we conducted recently with Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro users. To access the review's full transcripts, download our report.
"If you want to manage macOS devices in your enterprise and want to make it as easy for the user as well as for the administrators, you should use the DEP with Jamf Pro."
"We can put certain devices into smart groups based off of device name, department, etc."
"Patch management and associated policies help us manage and update our fleet's software."
"The self-service is awesome for empowering end-users, especially if you don't allow admin rights."
"We can see every single Mac is on which macOS version so we can help users if needed to update their Macs to a saved and current version."
"The remote wipe and lock features are by far the best tools."
"The most valuable feature is the self-service, which lets users install their preferred application instead of installing all applications and filling the machine with junk."
"We like the pre-stage enrollments."
"It is a helpful tool to manage BYOD policies."
"The ability to push applications on devices is valuable. You do not have to manually install applications one by one. If you like to use ten different applications, you do not have to manually go and download them one by one. Intune can compile a package for you, and then you can just push them from the admin center."
"The many policies available in Microsoft Intune for managing our devices are valuable."
"It helps implement conditional access policies to restrict mobile users from accessing potentially dangerous emails."
"It is user-friendly, and the performance is also good. It is a convenient product"
"The solution is stable."
"It supports end-users who tend to lock their devices quite frequently. Its conditional access policy helps us keep the users logged into their devices."
"The most valuable feature is the UEM capabilities."
"There are known issues with the mobile configs that need to be fixed."
"The on-going improvements & innovation that Jamf provides over time is something that needs to be maintained, as it is what is needed to fulfill a business & team need at the right time."
"I'm not exactly sure where it could be improved off the top of my head, but there is room for improvement."
"It would be nice if Jamf added an onboarding tool integrated into Jamf Connect during the automated DEP enrollment workflow. It would also improve the user experience if Jamf integrated native macOS notifications, with the option to interact within the notification center."
"I wish the inventory would have its own pane without having to do it as a search."
"We would like to have some of the extension attributes configured so that those extension attributes can be part of the core structure. They can make some of the extension attributes the actual attributes. They shouldn't be like add-ons."
"I would like to see either a report section or an integration with a new reporting module to allow us to pull real metrics from the system easily."
"The patch management needs improvement in Jamf Pro."
"It would be better if I could integrate it with my core group policy. I would like to have a group policy in my current environment, which has strict control, but those things are still missing. Although it has maximum compliance and security, it's not available on-premise."
"Microsoft Intune lacks the ability to provide seamless remote assistance or remote control."
"We need the capabilities of the Cloud Management Gateway (CMG) to be enhanced through Intune instead of Azure."
"Intune's third-party patch management could be better. It should be easier for the average system admin to keep non-Microsoft applications updated."
"Microsoft Intune has a latency response time issue. The latency has room for improvement."
"Intune lags all of its competitors in terms of report generation."
"Intune has some limitations when it comes to application updates for third-party applications. You can schedule an update, but when it's a package setup, you need to supercede and replace it each time."
"The UI also needs improvements because it is complex for end-users. We have had feedback from a few users in our organization who found the UI is not feasible for tracking and analyzing all the processes and monitoring all the devices."

Both posters have valid points. Both can now support a full OOB ( out-of-the-box) experience.
JAMF has more bells and whistles, while Intune covers the basics.
My executive summary is Intune is included with your Microsoft licensing, works on both Macs & Windows and covers the basics of everything you need. It's a single point for policy/device management and metrics.
JAMF can do much more in the MAC space, but it's additional (expensive) licensing, and won't work for your Windows space, so you will need to maintain another product and licensing.
In my view there is no comparing the two. JAMF is far superior if your talking about managing APPLE MAC machines and devices only. Jamf, previously known as Casper. Has been providing MDM solutions for years while Intune may be owned by big money and an even bigger name in MicroSoft. InTune is not nearly as easy to use in my view. Although some may disagree with my view or opinion. I would question ones experience in regards to all things Apple Mac. As there are many familiar with all things MicroSoft & Windows related. But still far FEWER even today. With the experience, background as well as familiarity with Apple Mac and cross platform support as I have been blessed with. With that I would still say, do your due diligence and research and always get a second opinion. Embrace all technology and be willing to engage in what others may deem less worthy. Had I been like most and adhered to the majority in I.T claiming Apple Mac products had no place in corporate America. I would not be the Engineer I am today. Cheers, Peace and good luck.
@Anil Saini,
Jamf Pro is designed for iPad, iPhone, Mac and Apple TV, macOS only on the MDM layer (and not MAM).
However, Intune is designed for all OS platforms on MDM and MAM.
Thanks
