We performed a comparison between Automation Anywhere (AA) and Selenium HQ based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Regression Testing Tools solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Before switching to the cloud version of Automation Anywhere, I worked with v10 and v10, so I appreciate the core functionality and the fact that it's a low-code solution. That is one of the key elements that differentiates Automation Anywhere from other platforms and one of the reasons we have been able to achieve success."
"SAP GUI Integration commands are highly useful while working with SAP applications and facilitate easy use of the software. This feature has been recently incorporated within the software and we have been using it to interface with SAP systems in development as well as production."
"Automation Anywhere has been an integral part of this product's evolution in general. A hindrance that we were faced with was companies who did not have API integrations for Salesforce. This is where RPA and Automation Anywhere came in and helped us with integrating solutions which did not have API integrations within themselves. That's how we've evolved in the past two to three months."
"The data capture feature is very valuable. I know there are also some elements where you have to be able to incorporate AI, but I haven't gotten to that level yet."
"The most valuable features of Automation Anywhere are Excel, periods, database, and email action."
"It has streamlined many manual processes, eliminating errors and inefficiencies. It has also allowed us to introduce metrics, so we can generate operational reports and improve our overall business."
"Automation Anywhere has a uniqueness with respect to the IQ Bot."
"It has changed our mindset. People have started to think about automating things and come up with new perspectives, alternatives, or improvements by which automation can be implemented."
"It is programming language agnostic, you can write tests in most currently used languages."
"Selenium HQ lets you create your customized functions with whatever language you want to use, like Python, Java, .NET, etc. You can integrate with Selenium and write."
"It is compatible with and supports multiple languages, such as Java and Python. It is open source, and it is widely used."
"Has a good Workday application that enables us to handle some of the custom controls."
"The solution is very flexible; there are different ways of using it. It's open-source and has a lot of support on offer."
"I believe Selenium HQ to be the best solution in the market for automating web applications"
"The testing solution produces the best web applications."
"The initial setup is straightforward. Deployment took about seven months."
"The technical support needs improvement."
"MetaBot helps getting data from SAP, but we still have some cases where we cannot fetch data from SAP."
"Intelligent automation is currently a buzz and I would love to see more innovation in this segment."
"Unwanted windows are popping up. We have to train a bot to recognize the window if it comes up, know what it is, and click it. If it is interrupting our bot, I just want to avoid that window, because I am getting failed logs."
"The solution doesn't offer all the capabilities that we need, so we have to use it in conjunction with other software."
"When I change the name of a variable in the Variable Manager, I would really like it to change in the code."
"We did use quite a bit of Citrix automation. Of course, AI Sense helps you through that. There are two big challenges that I can think of with Citrix automation. Your making multiple hops into end-to-end systems. As you are rating the screen, which is a screen within a screen, which is what Citrix automation is, the complexity increases. That is where the two things will come in: the tool's functionality and the beauty of design. These two have to come in together to make it work. If you don't have one or the other, it's not going to work."
"Automation Anywhere has some limitation with its integrations. You can build your logic with MetaBots and .NET components, e.g., if something is not gathered by Automation Anywhere or built into functionality, you can write a MetaBot. A MetaBot is like an external component. You can write it through C# or .NET code, and make a DLL, and import it. This is not open to all data types or EXE functionalities which can be written through C#. You have to define your variable types, matching them with Automation Anywhere existing variable types. Because of the knowledge required, I cannot let another person, who doesn't know Automation Anywhere, build my external DLL code."
"For people that don't know about technology, maybe it's difficult to use."
"The initial setup of Selenium HQ is difficult in many areas, such as the framework."
"The installation could be simplified, it is a bit difficult to install."
"The reporting part can be better."
"The solution can be improved by providing better reporting logs."
"Selenium Grid set-up is bit complex."
"If they can integrate more recording features, like UFT, it would be helpful for automation, but it's not necessary. They can also add a few more reporting features for advanced reporting."
"In the beginning, we had issues with several test cases failing during regression. Over a period of time, we built our own framework around Selenium which helped us overcome of these issues."
