We performed a comparison between Cisco ACI and Nuage Networks based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Cisco, Big Switch Networks, Aviatrix and others in Software Defined Networking (SDN)."One area where it has an advantage... is that you're able to reuse a specific integration. If you add another server, you can use a specific integration and assign it to another port."
"The best part of Cisco ACI is the server deployment and integration."
"The scalability has been great. It is very easy to scale."
"The integration with vCenter means that when I create something on the network, it only has to happen one time instead of many times for our many virtual hosts."
"The most valuable feature is the unified fabric."
"I especially like the host-based routing feature of Cisco ACI because it's straightforward to do it on different data centers. Another valuable feature of Cisco ACI is that its management controller works very well with no issues."
"Once we have it running, it should be easier for us to program our IT rather than going case-by-case, by switches and different elements, or program it by hand."
"It has benefited my organization by saving us a lot of time."
"It has good reporting and analytics, that most people can understand without too much difficulty."
"It is stable and reliable."
"One of the most valuable features of this solution is network management. The customer is able to manage their network from home or we can also manage the whole customer network."
"From my point of view, troubleshooting issues relating to ACI can be a little bit complicated to perform."
"I would like to see the data center unification of Cisco ACI with Cisco DNA into a single platform to deliver the data center and campus sides."
"An area for improvement in Cisco ACI is security, which Cisco needs to enhance in the solution. Though Cisco ACI uses a whitelist model, you must purchase an external product, such as a security firewall solution, to make whitelisting work, which the customer could find expensive. For example, you're a customer who has Cisco ACI, and the solution doesn't have IP-based filtering, so as a customer, you've purchased Cisco ACI. However, you still need to buy another product for security, and some customers wouldn't like that. However, some customers prefer to go with Cisco ACI because of its scalability and flexibility versus other solutions such as Juniper and Aruba. Technical support for Cisco ACI also needs improvement, particularly in product knowledge."
"I would like this solution to be integrated with Pure Storage."
"The product needs to be simpler. There is too much complexity in ACI. 80 percent of its features are of no use to us. We could do with a simplified version."
"Cisco should provide more examples of code in their website. Something that other people can use. There is a great place in the development area."
"It would be better to introduce some wizards to guide you through the whole configuration process instead of clicking through a bunch of menus with no concrete path. It is too easy to forget one or another if you configure it this way."
"The only drawback that we are seeing is the user interface is still a little complex and difficult to use. It needs a more user-friendly interface."
"The setup can be complex."
"Security is an area that could use some work."
