We performed a comparison between CrowdStrike Falcon Complete and Sophos MDR based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable features are the SIEM and the ticketing function; the latter is very smooth and easy to read and understand. We don't have any issues looking at the ticketing information when we're trying to identify what's going on."
"One of the main benefits of Binary Defense MDR is the ability to easily meet with their support team to discuss any issues we encounter."
"Binary Defense's most valuable feature is the 24/7 monitoring and threat hunting. Their team checks the latest breaches and how they're done."
"The most valuable feature is reviewing tickets and the notes added by technicians."
"The best part about Binary Defense MDR is that it runs on everything, and they keep an eye on things 24/7."
"Binary Defense has a human service department that provides live monitoring for our systems."
"With Binary Defense, we don't just get an alert, but also a detailed rundown of why they're alerting us on it. They tell us what was executed, or the username, script, or IP. That way, we're not wasting time investigating."
"The case interface is Binary Defense MDR's most valuable feature."
"The AI and the group knowledge base that they get from having multiple clients in the cloud is very useful to us."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Complete has stable security."
"EDR and Next-Generation Antivirus (NGAV) are good features. The Spotlight feature is also good, and it also can detect patching-related vulnerabilities."
"There's less workload on the endpoint."
"There are many different modules with this solution where vulnerability and inventory management can be carried out. The solution has a good dashboard and offers a lot of insights into your systems."
"If someone is using the old Microsoft Office and the system is not updated, then CrowdStrike takes action on behalf of the operating system."
"I am not a CrowdStrike fanboy, but as an IT leader, they make my life easy. I like proactive monitoring and remediation, so I do not have to guess or run around. They are doing everything for me."
"Falcon's threat intel is strong, and the solution allows our customers to automate their site intelligence. We can integrate Falcon X with the other platforms we use, like FireEye, Insight, Cybertech, and Kaspersky."
"I like Sophos MDR's inbuilt feature for DLP (Data Loss Prevention)."
"The solution is stable."
"It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution."
"There is a feature called XDR Central. With this, Sophos can connect to third-party security solutions."
"The user doesn't need a technician; it offers 24/7 support to identify and manage your infrastructure and take complete care of any technological incidents."
"The product’s most valuable feature is ease of use."
"The product as a whole is truly outstanding and it excels in detecting and responding to various types of cyberattacks."
"The product’s most valuable feature is rapid response."
"We should be able to isolate devices faster. They should shorten the time between clicking on a device to contain it and carrying out the action. That would be a welcome improvement."
"It's hard to think of anything that they need to improve on, but just to point out something, I would like to see them provide advanced XDR."
"I would like to get more reports from Binary Defense about what they're blocking."
"If I were shopping for an MDR solution today, I would not only look for a company that has the ability to alert, detect, and remediate, but also the ability to integrate vulnerability management. That's a big thing that they're lacking today."
"I don't find any downside to them, but if I have to put one, it would be consistent manpower or staffing. The only area where the solution can be improved is going to be with people. As they grow, they are struggling with the same thing that every other company is, which is getting talent and getting that talent to stay, but they've just revised their tiering system to go from a flat analyst and manager to a three-tier solution where it goes through two or three before it gets elevated. That seems to have worked out well, so if one level misses it, the next one picks it up, and it works out fine."
"I would like to see more frequent check-ins with our security status."
"We found a couple of bugs in the user interface."
"The current reporting system could benefit from improvement."
"We'd like the pricing to be a bit lower in the future."
"At the moment, nothing is missing in CrowdStrike Falcon Complete. I'm amazed by it. It's perfect and I'm not aware of any other vendors that provide its features, but it would also depend on the configuration and policy management of the solution, for example, I can bring you an EDR solution and configure it badly, so it won't do anything. It also depends on the people, not just the technology you're obtaining, so this is the most important thing to do for all solutions, even for firewalls. You can obtain a firewall and if you permit everyone to go through it, then it's useless. What could be improved in CrowdStrike Falcon Complete is its management console. Currently, that console is on the cloud, so if the cloud is compromised, then the management console would also be compromised, and that's quite risky."
"The support is good from CrowdStrike Falcon Complete. We call them and we have a response immediately. They could improve by increasing their knowledge."
"The solution is geared more towards larger organizations, so it can be difficult for organizations with smaller budgets to utilize the solution."
"I would love for the threat intelligence part to be more globalized to provide a tailored response to types of malware and ransomware that are trending in other regions. For example, they can add a feature to tell us that there are separate attacks in South Asia or East Asia occurring at these times, so we can supply those things to our environment and protect ourselves."
"The licensing is a bit complex."
"The performance slows down by between 10% and 40%, depending on what type of work the machine is doing."
"The technical support is good. However, the technical support is outsourced to India which causes some language barriers. I am not sure if this is still an issue, they might have allotted more suitable representatives."
"The solution is expensive for customers."
"One of the limitations that we have found is with communications and the languages in different countries."
"Once in a great while, an update fails."
"The reports should be more comprehensive and easier to organize."
"Sophos MDR's support and basic training of their devices could be improved."
"The technical team for Sophos MDR is not so good since they take a long time, like a week, to provide a solution to a simple case or problem we face in our company."
"The product's pricing could be less expensive."
"Its technical support could be better."
