We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The ability to deploy a generic implementation without advanced customization.""Epicor ERP is very technical friendly, if you want to do any customization, it's very easy.""There's good flexibility within the inbuilt tools such as alerts, business process management, dashboards, and screen customization.""Epicor ERP is an easy-to-use solution.""The most valuable features of Epicor ERP are ease of use, powerful API, and comprehensive integration. It is a one-vendor solution, where other vendors need other software systems from multiple vendors.""Real-time results make for faster decision making.""The product enables users to customize their dashboards and reports.""Dashboards and Business Activity Query are very useful."

"All of the features are valuable, depending on where you implement them. I've done implementations in 60 countries, across 86 different companies and groups, and each company has a different reason for why they want to use it. Every single feature that I've implemented has been successful, and for some companies, where they didn't use the functionality, they have moved to external products or they've integrated into other applications.""The solution has good dashboard functionalities and export functionalities.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is its ease of use, data customization, and smooth integration.""It's quite reliable, and there's a good local provider who can adapt the solution for tax issues.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is cloud accessibility.""The vertical covers all aspects of functionality and integrates easily with the existing Office products.""Its most valuable feature is the user interface.""Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is extremely stable as it does not rely on our in-house servers."

Cons
"A number of bugs in 9.05 were only fixed in 10.""There are some glitches in Epicor ERP.""The tool should provide a better user interface.""There's a new version of the solution that has some bugginess. They're cleaning that up. The user interface is an area that needs improvement and they're improving.""I would like to see a better reporting tool.""Right now, it doesn't really have a good cloud story.""Epicor didn't care about user level and software applications. So, it's not so user-friendly for nontechnical people.""In the newer version of Epicor ERP, it's very difficult to find out that tracing."

More Epicor ERP Cons →

"There is a book for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central explaining how to use it. But it is not easy to use, and it is not easy to learn.""The initial setup of the solution was quite complex and the troubleshooting involved with that needs to be improved.""Microsoft Dynamics NAV could be improved in terms of exporting income statements and balance sheets. Currently, there is a feature, but you can only have the last three years. I spent some time trying to improve the KPI portion that exports the data, that already calculates the sub forms or subtotals, but they weren't able to break that up into different dimensions. They've now managed to crowd the separate table and you can export that, but it's only for the last three years. So, they could improve this solution by getting the chart of accounts or the account schedules to be exported, where you can go further than just three years with it.""I think Microsoft should improve on the process of how the user decides on a business workflow. For example, there may be some kind of drag-and-drop interface that lets us decide for ourselves how to develop the business workflows that fit our purpose.""The solution could include the retail tool in the native version.""The product should improve work optimization.""I am hoping there is more integration with other platforms, more features, and customization in the next release.""The performance and virtual machine backup is not good with this solution and need improvements."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "User support could be improved as well, as the consultant charges are very high."
  • "When comparing Epicor ERP to the other related products, the pricing, additional enhancements, as well as implementation, are better."
  • "We bought an on-premise version of the solution. The cloud version is different. I've looked into it, but it's very competitive on the low end of the market."
  • "The initial cost may be a bit high, but the maintenance cost is lower."
  • "Epicor ERP is an expensive solution."
  • More Epicor ERP Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The first time we tried to buy the newest version, it was expensive."
  • "I have some subscription-based customer and a few customers who have perpetual licenses that hosted the application on the cloud."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable."
  • "I think the pricing is the best; it's cost effective for sure."
  • "Microsoft Dynamics NAV has a pay-as-you-use payment model."
  • "NAV might be a little pricey for a small or medium-sized company, but all the solutions out there are."
  • "The cost is one of the benefits. If you don't want to go for the full-blown finance and operations, the pricing model is a lot cheaper and has now switched to being based on a per-user subscription. So, if it's on cloud, you now have an expense instead of a large CapEx. If it's on-prem, you obviously still have to continue with the licensing model that they have, but if you compare the features and functionality, in terms of the price that you pay, I find it's better than other products. My answer on the pricing would be slightly different, depending on the country you're in and the return on investment, based on the size of the company. It's well-priced internationally. I think the new model is priced even better because it's now subscription-based and, if you go for cloud, the return on investment is a lot quicker and if it's expense, you can cap it. If you do take the on-prem version, the licensing is still priced as what it used to be, so that would depend on what country you are in."
