We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.""The stability is very good.""I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""It is stable and scalable.""It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors""Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance."

"The solution is very scalable. It just depends on the number of licenses an organization has. The enterprise management console is related to the number of clients, and the client interface itself is free to download.""We find the VPN features valuable.""There is a lot of documentation available online.""Having a centralized console is a valuable feature. The Fortinet fabric is also very valuable where all different pieces talk together to secure our network and track the North, South, East, and West movement of files and data through our network.""EMS central reporting with fabric connectivity to FortiGate and FortiAnalyser is great and has seamless integration which makes managing 3000 devices a breeze.""The solution's TNA feature blocks devices from entering the network that do not meet compliance protocols.""This solution makes it easier to work from home.""This is a solid and stable solution."

More Fortinet FortiClient Pros →

"A great console with a user-friendly GUI.""The exploit guard and malware protection features are very useful. The logon tracker feature is also very useful. They have also given new modules such as logout backup, process backup. We ordered these modules from the FireEye market place, and we have installed these modules. We are currently exploring these features.""The most valuable feature is user-based policy provision.""The tool has contributed to improving our security posture. While it's just one part of our overall solution, it plays a crucial role. As we continue to evolve, we anticipate it becoming even more important alongside other aspects like network behavior and additional metrics.""The activation of features within ENS and the collection of threats into a single console is a strong point.""The most valuable feature of this solution is its simplicity.""Trellix Endpoint Security has a full suite of DLP.""The agents are easy to deploy."

Cons
"Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting.""We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels.""The SIEM could be improved.""We've had a lot of false positives; things incorrectly flagged that require manual configuration to allow. Even worse, after we allow a legitimate program, it sometimes gets flagged again after an update. This has caused a lot of extra work for my team.""Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection.""The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"When we change our endpoint, we have to connect again, which means having to enter our credentials and permissions.""FortiClient is not communicating with the new version of the firewall.""The features for application control and device control must be improved.""I don't think FortiClient is bad, but it's very buggy. We ran into some issues with the EMS, which amounted to more than 10 cases last year.""Initially, the support was very poor. It is getting better, but they should continue to improve this.""The user interface on the central server could be improved.""The solution can improve by adding new remote console or endpoint features to make the solution easier to use.""As far as I can tell, the solution only has one single function, so they could expand its functionality."

More Fortinet FortiClient Cons →

"The product’s on-premise version is costly in terms of extra charges for SQL database and Windows server licenses.""If you have another endpoint product running on the same machine, you have to fine tune functions from FireEye to avoid performance and user experience issues.""The way that signatures work when using this solution could be improved. They could be more user friendly. We would like the ability to select a client's signature from a menu or file share to save time.""Search feature could be made more user-friendly.""The product needs to reduce the usage of RAM and CPU.""Looking at the current ePolicy orchestrator, and the transition of most vendors to the cloud, they need to do an improvement with the current dashboard or the overall aesthetic of their GUI.""Sometimes, one might face issues with the scalability of the product. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement.""A policy-editing console should be added."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
