We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The performance of the solution is good.""There are three major main use cases of this solution. The first one is to fulfill compliance regulations. Customers—especially the banks, health sector, and manufacturing—need to comply with the regulations in different countries. They have to fulfill compliance regulations around the privacy of data. In order to fulfill those requirements, they're using Imperva. It helps them to fulfill these requirements, and they are not fined by the regulators. That is the first use case why people buy Imperva.""This is a stable product.""It has a lot of different components that cover the needs of our customers.""Ability to send event monitoring and administrative activities.""The solution is user-friendly.""Imperva's most valuable features are ease of use and log correlation. I also like the ability to trace activity from the host machine to the server access, the user details, and the exact query that they executed. If a database administrator or application process executes a query on the database, people know exactly what was executed, including all the variables.""As we are very sensitive to financial impacts, this product provides great protection for our organization."

"The centralization of the data is probably the most useful feature because we span multiple database technologies. We also find the GBDI portion of it very helpful.""It allows us to run models against it and do reports against it without understanding the different database technologies."

Cons
"The updates could be better.""They can maybe look at its pricing model. Its pricing could be cheaper for the African countries or developing economies.""SecureSphere activity log can be used with Imperva CounterBreach in an effort to protect enterprise data from theft and loss caused.""The solution needs local support.""The GUI is bad.""The firewall features are not very strong and should be improved.""The solution could improve by having more integration.""I would like to see integration such that there is support for different kinds of environments, such as on-premises versus cloud."

"It would be better if it were more user-friendly. Right now, it's a little bit of a complicated product to use. Another problem that we have is with encrypted traffic on Oracle. This is because it requires a database outage. That's a pain in the butt because you're monitoring critical systems, and they don't like outages.""It can be simplified as it is a little complicated."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The cost of support for this solution is very expensive."
  • "Licensing fees are on a yearly basis, and it is a good value for the money."
  • "There is an annual licensing fee for upgrading the device."
  • "Pricing is low and scalable to add features and volume."
  • "The pricing over-all depends on the entry level. For example, if support and maintenance are about $20,000 - $25,000, the initial cost can be five times more. It is less expensive for the company to maintain the client than to make the deployment."
  • "We have all the licenses, which we pay for annually. The price is a little high, but the product is good."
  • "They have introduced new price models, which makes the product more affordable now."
  • "The price is very high but compared to the price of the overall solution, then I think it's a good deal because the solution itself is great."
