We performed a comparison between Informatica Cloud Data Integration and Oracle Integration Cloud Service based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Cloud Data Integration solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The features I find most valuable is the synchronization, verification, functionalities and all the data integration features."
"The Mapping Designer allows for declarative ETL development (visual scripting) that leverages a wide array of different transformations."
"The user interface which is very easy to use if we have any problems to solve."
"Informatica is good for integrating data and cloud applications. We have connectors for integrating cloud applications like Salesforce. You can quickly integrate anything with an exposed API or a REST API. The industry is increasingly shifting to the cloud, so we need more products that can connect to cloud-based applications. The integration is seamless and works in real time. It's also secure because you don't need to expose databases or tables."
"We have a lot of integrations, and it's very easy to create integrations. They have a lot of connectors."
"REST API: Excellent for scripting control and reporting mechanisms"
"The data mapping capability is a valuable feature."
"Their new licensing is very flexible. With Informatica Cloud, you have plenty of items under the same umbrella, such as services, offerings, data quality, and data masking. You have also got master data management and API management. What I really like about them is that you don't need to go to Informatica and say that you need a data integration module. You would say that you need iPaaS or Informatica Cloud. They'll then try to understand your needs and give you IPUs, which are the processing units. If I purchased a hundred IPUs from Informatica as a customer, I can use 70 IPUs for data integration. I would also need data quality, so I can use 10 IPUs for data quality. I can use the remaining 20 IPUs for API management. Down the line, if I see that my initial data integration needs for the development phase are met, then out of the 70 IPUs assigned for data integration, I can use 30 IPUs for data masking. I can shuffle these numbers in any way within the Informatica Cloud umbrella for the tenure for which I have subscribed to these IPUs. I can use all services the way I want. This flexibility is what I really love about Informatica. It also has got good connectors."
"In general, there were a lot of great utilities for working with files."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle Integration Cloud Service is its ease of use. We do not depend on any tool to develop it. Everything is on the browser and is easy to integrate, even for someone who does not understand a lot about coding."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle Integration Cloud Service is its performance."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the SFTP adapters, file adapters, and risk adapters, that we use in everyday projects."
"People are able to scale up, learn it quickly, and start delivering."
"I particularly like the drag-and-drop feature for designing integrations and processes."
"It is a scalable solution."
"Oracle Integration Cloud Service is a really good product and the ROI is very good with it. It lowers development time. A development cycle that may have taken a year without Oracle Integration Cloud Service can drop down to three or four months with it."
"Error reporting and debugging need improvement."
"User/group administration could use improvement."
"The cloud version of the Informatica, it's a very substandard product. They might say it's enterprise-ready but it's not at all ready. They need to add more features, such as improved data replication features. If you look at other tools, such as Matillion they are now cloud-native and flexible. Additionally, Informatica Cloud Data Integration should have a good migration strategy from Informatica PowerCenter to Informatica Cloud Data Integration."
"The biggest challenge I see is the IDE's for the cloud and automization are different."
"The integration process is not easy."
"Its pricing model can be improved. The response time from technical support can also be improved."
"The regions in which the data resides are still limited. This could be an issue in terms of the data residency laws of some of the countries. They should get more regions."
"There are a small number of UI bugs that occur on occasion."
"Our client was quite concerned about the cost, which is something that could be reduced."
"It has lengthy documentation, making the process of building applications more time-consuming."
"Configurable timeouts on each connection would be good."
"If an inbound file is larger than one GB, it cannot be transformed within Oracle."
"They need to make tools framework available for implementation partners"
"Lacks features for more complex integrations."
"Oracle Integration Cloud Service can improve file handling. Currently, our real-time file polling limitation is 10 MB, if that size can be increased it would be helpful. For example, increasing the size from 10 MB to 1 GB."
"We would love to have more and more ready-to-use interfaces from Oracle."
