We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is very straightforward to deploy and set up.""With the new versions, it has become very user-friendly. We have integration with mobiles, and we have cloud-based solutions. There are a lot of things that can be done by front-end users without technical knowledge. They can create reports without having to do any coding, and it's very good now.""JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is perfect for our reporting for the management, workflow, and procurement workflow.""The 1V reporting is straightforward and simple to use. Creating 1V reports does not require any technical knowledge.""Flexibility is the most valuable aspect of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne because it allows customization.""JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has improved within all the solutions and there have been a lot of investments by Oracle in these solutions. Most of the functionalities, and business requirements, are available for the system in the solution and there have been enhancements to the processes, UI, and tools, which have been done on a regular basis.""The most valuable features of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne are financial reporting, procurement, and project management.""We find the ease of use, customization, and user interface valuable."

"The most valuable feature is the detail in all of the processes. The solution captures our policies and enables us to implement our policies in SAP. There are different models that address our needs.""It is a very scalable solution. We have enterprise-level businesses using this solution.""I have found the user interface very modern and it has simplified many user jobs, such as the embedded logistics. They have introduced central finance which has been a benefit.""S4HANA is very scalable - we use it across seven or eight factories, and everything is running fine.""SAP S4HANA has good performance and has allowed us to combine our systems.""I find the Production Planning Cockpit (PPC) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) most valuable modules.""SAP S4HANA is a stable solution.""From a technology standpoint, the theory and analytics are fascinating."

Cons
"Financial side could be expanded by bringing in things like the IMS.""The solution could be easier to implement. However, the complexity was in our internal processes meeting our country's requirements. Every country has a slightly different process, taxation, and rules. That was the difficult part, not the solution itself. I expect our experience would have been more or less the same with any ERP, such as SAP, Navision, or Dynamics.""We originally used EnterpriseOne for preventative maintenance, but it is not very good at that so we migrated to Maximo for that task.""I would like the user experience to be more user-friendly.""The product’s pricing should be improved.""It does not submit the inquiry as requested. We have to close the application and restart the computer.""The Fixed Asset module is not desirable because it is complicated.""Originally, there were some complications with implementation."

More JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Cons →

"Thi solution can improve the Bill of Materials (BOM) and production planning.""When we want to raise a ticket on the SAP portal, the process takes a longer time, and there are many selections that confuse the user.""There should be an easier way to migrate customers from all versions to SAP S/4HANA.""We are always looking for a better user experience. We would like to see more consolidation in SAP S4HANA because of all the financial compliance and regulatory changes.""A virtual machine could exist to make everything available on a single deployment.""Maybe its user interface and reporting can be improved across the board, but it is manageable.""Their yearly licensing is expensive. Improvements are needed on the user experience level and digital work.""The procure-to-pay solution in the Contract Management angle could be better. If you look at it on Ariba, the Contract Management Life Cycle for Ariba is more robust. You can create documentation, SLAs, and NDAs. Apart from the procurement aspect of the contract, you have the legal side, but Ariba cannot do that. From what I've seen, the features of the procure-to-pay model in S/4HANA and their Contract Life Cycle Management side primarily focus on the procurement side. I believe it would be good if this solution could handle a part of the legal side. They will incorporate Extended Warehouse Management and Transportation Management into the S/4HANA cloud. Most big companies that use a solution like S/4HANA have a legal department within the organization. Suppose they can incorporate that to be in S/4HANA suites; I think it'll be good. It will be just like what we have with Transportation Management and Extended Warehouse Management. The user interface could be better. They have too much information on the interface, and our customers still keep complaining that it looks complex. Even though many things have changed, they still complain that the interface or the screen they see is a bit complex. It's only when they see the Fiori interface that their mind becomes a bit calm."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is an "arm-and-a-leg". This keeps the customers away from going for J.D. Edwards."
  • "The licensing is for mid-market businesses, where it is cheaper than Oracle Cloud, EBS, or SAP."
  • "The price of the solution is not cheap. However, it is priced average amongst competitors."
  • "There is an annual license for this solution."
  • "It depends on the number of users and the modules that you want to buy. It is licensed on a perpetual license basis. You buy the license costs upfront, and then there is maintenance for support that you pay every year, which is typically about 20%."
  • "The solution is really expensive."
  • "The licensing costs are on a yearly basis, and there are no additional costs."
  • "In terms of price, it is not on the high end."

  • "The solution is expensive."
  • "We're not sure yet. I think it was six figures a year, over 100,000. It has straight-up licensing fees."
  • "Licensing works on a subscription model for the cloud version and it's a one-time fee for the on-premises version."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable but some modules can be expensive. When comparing SAP S4HANA to other solutions, such as Oracle, it is not expensive."

Day by day they are increasing their technology features and they are keen to resolve the issues.
