We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"OpenText ProVision's best feature is the capability to attach a variety of attributes and extract and analyze that information.""The stability of the product is very good.""All the features come as part of a standard license."

"We use it to develop and maintain the Enterprise Conceptual Model, migrated from erwin a couple of years ago.""Provides a single repository for all architecture work.""This is a useful tool for IT people who need to design their solution architecture.""Its traversability is most valuable. I can use ArchiMate, and I can create a UML model. ArchiMate is for logical enterprise architecture, UML is for software engineering, and BPMN is for business processes. I can build it to have multiple models, and they are also traversable, which is not something that every tool allows. If there is a huge organization, you can segment it and have separate models for business technology or internal resource management system. You don't need to keep them in one model, and you can decide to segregate them.""A feature I like most about Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect is its ease of use.""Scalability is not a problem. You can always increase the footprint of what the thing can do because it's so powerful.""The most valuable features are the flexibility and adaptability of Sparx Enterprise Architect.""We could capture the process models around 24 countries with all their local variations."

Cons
"OpenText ProVision's collaboration management is quite complicated and difficult to use.""Lacks the ability to have your own in-house developments.""Integrating with or interfacing with other tools like data management tools would be very helpful."

More OpenText ProVision Cons →

"It could be more user-friendly. The tools could be more simple to use. It's a very complex solution. Because I am a business analyst, I use these tools to manage requirements, and I make models in UML, BPMN, and ArchiMate, and it's complex. In the next release, I would like to see more integrations.""When collaborating with other people, it needs to be more user-friendly.""The fact that you can do a lot yourself is a plus point, but it also becomes a challenge because you need an understanding of the programming languages to get things to work. It becomes challenging for those who are not very good at programming. You have standard reports, but if you want to make your own reports, you have to program it. Similarly, if you want validations rules, you have to take care of them yourself.""It really did not work for logical modeling. The look is very old-fashioned. You can't make the diagrams easy on the eye, so we ended up drawing them again in Visio anyhow.""Using EA involves a steep learning curve if you want to understand its capabilities and functionality.""They should make the Save button easier to find. A simplified user interface for a lighter user would probably be useful. I am not sure if such an interface is already there.""The integration could be improved.""It can be improved in the area of shared documentation. The idea is that the architecture tool can call back to an enterprise asset, pull that information, and link that as a sub-artifact."
