We performed a comparison between Trend Micro Apex One and SentinelOne based on our users’ reviews in four categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Based on the parameters we compared, Trend Micro Apex One comes out ahead of SentinelOne. Our reviewers found that SentinelOne's deployment time may vary, which could be an inconvenience for some customers, it also lacks reporting, policies, and endpoint visibility, which are important for many organizations.
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration."
"The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers."
"The stability is very good."
"Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work."
"he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features."
"The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure."
"The price is low and quite competitive with others."
"It is stable and scalable."
"SentinelOne is the next-generation EDR solution."
"Its capacity to prevent new threats."
"SentinelOne has helped us to improve our security by fine-tuning our current use cases and creating new ones."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete, together with SentinelOne Vigilance, is an EDR tool with capabilities such as these, which I found valuable: the dashboard that shows you all the information and the power to either manually or automatically quarantine issues or threats in the environment."
"The portal is the most valuable feature because it provides us with a single pane of glass view and is highly intuitive."
"We love the API. We use it to generate robust reporting, and we also developed tools to perform agent actions remotely without needing to provide all IT staff with console access."
"Prevents ransomware getting through."
"It uses AI technology so it can find known and unknown threats. It is stable and provides one of the best technical support."
"It's reduced administrative overhead."
"It's easier to integrate Apex One than Kaspersky. It also performs well, and the customer feedback has been positive."
"I can run a full scan and it won't cost too much in terms of resources, which is good."
"Along with the anti-malware, it has a built-in device control and DLP."
"It's made it easier for us to monitor the security environment in general."
"The general anti-virus on offer is the solution's most valuable aspect."
"The most valuable aspect is achieving zero attacks and zero data compromise."
"The scalability is perfect."
"The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection."
"We find the solution to be a bit expensive."
"The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage."
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices."
"We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments."
"The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs."
"Integration with Azure and SaaS provisioning tools could improve Fortinet FortiEDR."
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"It's good on Linux, and Windows is pretty good except that the Windows agents sometimes ask for a lot of resources on the endpoints. That could be in the fine-tuning for scanning. In Mac, they are complaining about the same problems, that it's using a lot of resources, but that could also be that we have to configure what it is scanning and what it should not scan. Currently it scans everything."
"It would help if they could get all the relevant threat information, the related events, in one place. Currently, we need to go to a number of places and do research. If they could have it all in one place, that would help investigations."
"They should train their own people so that they can train us better. The theory is good."
"Some reports could be better."
"Interoperability with other SentinelOne solutions and other third-party tools is an area where you can run into some issues. Because of the way the agent works, there are sometimes things that are blocked or prevented from happening that are not identified as a threat, and therefore, not alerted in the console. Sometimes, we do have to dig through the logs, run tests, and adjust the whitelisting or exclusions to make sure that other applications will run properly."
"The solution can improve by adding more granular firewall capabilities."
"I would like to have a remote desktop feature added so we can remotely access our endpoints."
"It would be nice if the console stored data daily, so that you could look at a timeline of events on a machine over a period of time, and currently this is not possible."
"Apex One's threat and vulnerability management has room for improvement."
"The solution should adjust its pricing for the smaller market we are in."
"The integration is lacking in Trend Micro Apex One. It does not integrate well with Microsoft p solutions. For example, with Office 365, we have to buy another solution for mail protection. That's why we are assessing Microsoft Defender 365 because we have an email from Microsoft, an endpoint from Microsoft, and we use Windows systems."
"The UI has room for improvement."
"It needs a consolidated manager as there are too many parts to currently manage it."
"The solution needs to have SDR in it. So, SDR is an area where the solution needs to work and improve itself."
"It would be better if it was easier to administer Apex One."
"They should include easy-to-use connectors to make it easier to connect to SIEM."
