We performed a comparison between Acronis Cyber Protect and Bacula Enterprise based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Backup and Recovery solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."I would definitely say the backup and recovery. It used to be a separate module. It was a recovery part and it would literally duplicate the machine to bare bones."
"It's a good solution that's very easy to use. Acronis has two valuable features. The first one is creating images, and the other is starting virtual machines in the cloud so the client can work immediately."
"Our customers can backup to local storage and they can back up or replicate to the cloud."
"The Acronis panel is user friendly and tracking backups across a number of different devices is great. Acronis provides prompts and reminders to users if certain files are not backed up."
"The web-based interface makes it easy to use."
"The main reason we went with Acronis Cyber Protect is because it provides a virtual machine backup feature."
"All the necessary features required to set up a proper backup are already present in Acronis Backup."
"The most valuable feature of Acronis Backup is the data recovery and restoration details."
"The most valuable features are the special plugins such as SAP HANA databases, Microsoft SQL, and various types of virtualization."
"Bacula is pretty stable."
"It can be used in virtually any environment we have onsite."
"It is easy to scale Bacula Enterprise even if your system is growing tremendously in data and servers."
"It brought many advantages - such as the learning curve being very light."
"The solution has extensive documentation and a very active community."
"It works great and it provides you with several standard tools to restore your backup, even after a big failure."
"No technical support and minimal documentation."
"If there was a wizard that would lead you down a road, when creating a backup, that would probably be better than having to go online or call somebody to actually do a backup. It's not intuitive..."
"I wish Acronis had a feature that would allow me to set an expiry date for customers when I send them Acronis, such as when I create a customer workload or gigabyte."
"The licensing approach becomes intricate when dealing with SharePoint."
"Because Acronis Backup is an on-premises solution, there is extra overhead. It's harder to manage, and there's no real remote access. You have to physically log in to the machine to manage it. The reporting feature works fine, and you will be able to send out reports. However, that is where it stops. The deployment could be improved and could be through a network chain. If we need to deploy two machines that are not connected to the internet but connected to two different networks, it would be great to have a machine with dual mix that has access to the backup server and to those machines. It would be like a relay that you can install on the machine with a two-mix, and that machine can then connect to your backup server and to the other machines. You should be able to see the other machines on that network and be able to deploy to it and push jobs to it."
"One improvement that could be made is adding the option to download files in a PST format when doing a 365 or Google Cloud to cloud backup."
"The reporting can be improved."
"When an error occurs, the information is not always easy to understand and these messages should be made more clear."
"The initial setup could be a bit easier."
"Easier setup and configuration, perhaps including a GUI, would be an improvement."
"It could improve its interface or offer a specific screen for the manager of the company."
"A more user-friendly interface (GUI) can be developed."
"Bacula needs a graphical user interface because, for administrators, the command-line interface is okay, but for the average user it is not very easy."
"We would like to see an improvement in the functionality of the GUI."
"We are looking for a unique interface that can rule both enterprise and open source editions. Such a thing does not yet exist."
