We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Compared to other reporting tools, it is very effective but does require an understanding of certain concepts in QuickSight. This understanding is crucial for creating dimensions, changing metrics, and visualizing reports.""A valuable feature of Amazon QuickSight is that it's a cloud-native service provided by AWS. As all platforms within my company run on AWS, that's the leverage of Amazon QuickSight. Amazon QuickSight is also easy to use, and I find the native connectors from AWS valuable as well.""Amazon QuickSight can provide insights from the available data. It supports various rule types. We get the options of machine learning and insights, which are not available in other intelligence tools. It is easier to use, more stable, and cheaper than other solutions.""The most valuable feature of Amazon QuickSight is its connectivity with other Amazon services.""Easily able to connect with our other services and easy to manage.""It has a lot of valuable features, but the most important aspect is the affordable cost. This solution costs much less in comparison to the competitors like Qlik Sense, Power BI, and Tableau.""The query and dashboard capabilities are entirely good.""The most valuable feature I have found is the low-level securities are very easy to use."

"The embedding feature is great.""We can easily do our own customizations.""The concept of engines is quite powerful allowing the user to work with report authoring/provisioning tools of their choice.""I can't name the features the way the Knowage community calls them because I still don't know the lingo. However, I can describe them. I like the ability to join more than one report, set all fields on one end, and replicate that on the other reports. I like that a lot. I think it's one of the features that got me using Knowage. They have tables, and I like that too. They took SQL scripts and many other scripts and enabled them to even correlate with Python. That's also one of the best things about Knowage. You could also decide to get information per user role, and this is also a feature that I like in Knowage."

Cons
"It's not ideal for reports that are more complex.""Amazon QuickSight's visualization could be improved.""The product is quite expensive because the price is too close to QlikView's prices but it does not ring as well as QlikView.""One area where Amazon QuickSight could improve is its formatting features for dashboards.""There is room for improvement in terms of the number of visualizations and dashboards that are available.""One area is that integrating data from different sources into QuickSight can be a bit tricky, especially with Amazon Connect. To get data flowing, you need to use two additional services and configure them correctly.""Amazon QuickSight has minimal features. The feature set can be improved to allow you to create good production-ready dashboards. This does not happen with QuickSite, it needs to mature to be used in production.""It is a simple tool with limited features. Its visualization set is very limited, and it also has limited functionality. An intelligence tool should not be only for creating reports. Currently, we have to do all computational and mathematical operations outside. We should be able to do such operations in an intelligence tool like this. As an intelligence tool, it should support dynamic refresh. QuickSight currently supports the refresh at a minimum of one hour, and it is not suitable for dynamic dashboards that require frequent refreshes."

More Amazon QuickSight Cons →

"The dashboard components could be better.""The only challenge here is that it's a Java-based platform. It requires very high technical skills.""Development of SpagoBI has now been moved to Knowage. Users interested in further developments of the platform will have to look there.""It would be better if more resources were available to help us learn how to use it. I wanted to use Knowage for a more extended period, but learning materials around the product were not really available and were not really straightforward. I've also seen inconsistencies between versions. For example, under the tools, especially in the cockpit, the way you create reports is now different. You will also find some configurations within a particular state, like a line chart, which differs from version to version. I think consistency is an essential feature in a product, especially for business intelligence products."
