We performed a comparison between Broadcom StrataDNX and Fortinet FortiSwitch - Secure Access based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Ethernet Switches solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The good thing about the StrataDNX is that the Broadcom family is very interchangeable, so they work well with different optical transceivers."
"Easy to integrate with any of the other hardware platforms."
"My advice those using a firewall Fortigate is: use their APs because they work very well."
"Fortinet FortiSwitch - Secure Access has essential features for managing switches."
"The most valuable feature of FortiSwitch is its user-friendly interface, which facilitates easy management and propagation of rules throughout the network."
"The product is a total solution with the FortiGate, switch, and access point. It is integrated with FortiGate, allowing us to manage all the equipment through it. You can handle everything from a single point."
"What I actually use in this deployment are Forti APs (Fortinet Access Points). So, I can see all my office infrastructure from a single console, which is handy. One FortiGate, one FortiSwitch, and five access points, everything under good control. It's really nice to see it all together like this."
"The tool's VLAN feature is easy to understand. It was very good."
"The software is very stable."
"It is easy to set up."
"There is room for improvement in the pricing model."
"The number of surfaces that can be handled by the chipset could be increased."
"The product's pricing needs improvement for small and medium businesses."
"I believe that stacking, a feature that is available in Huawei and Cisco, is not available in Fortinet products."
"It would be easier if Fortinet FortiSwitch - Secure Access could be managed via cloud, and this is something that could be improved in this product. Bandwidth display could also be better."
"In Fortinet, the packet reconstruction in the SD-WAN solution needs a little bit of improvement. When it comes to the Secure Access to the switches or the mix of Fortinet solution, the very small ones do not have the capability to use fiber cables. So, the small FortiGates have to work with the copper cables and cannot use fiber cables. Even though they have the capacity and throughput on all technical connectors, they don't have the interfaces, which is one of the good things with Cisco. They just add models to it. You buy the independent models, and you add them."
"We had experienced downtime. I would like to see it to be improved."
"The solution could provide an active VPN."
"Technical support needs to take a different approach and pricing should appear more competitive."
"The solution has SD-WAN but it doesn't have SDN. This should be added."
