We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Provides an overall view using a single portal.""Cisco Intersight has valuable features for workflow automation and inventory administration.""What I like most about Cisco Intersight is its manageability.""Scalable portfolio of services for remote device management, with good cloud integration. It's also easy to set up.""The product has good integration.""The tool helps to manage Cisco servers.""Intersight can validate our environment.""I like Intersight because of the integration with HashiCorp, Kubernetes, and each cloud because Intersight is the IO module."

"A lot of time is saved when you use this type of software solution for the network. We have moved systems into the new data center and the servers and systems are much faster because of the very low latency between virtual machines.""Also, the ability to troubleshoot all the way across the NSX part of it to the physical and actually watch the packets go through and then see where the bottleneck is or where the interruption is. We run queries on the network flows within the application to find where they are in it and it graphically tells us how the packets are actually going through the system.""It allows us to see how the network devices function as well as to see network glitches or fluctuations or dropping of packets.""The most valuable features are the packet trace flow and that the view of the whole environment is deep.""As a troubleshooting tool, it's a level-3 troubleshooting-skills tool and it's very easy to use and very easy to find the information that you need.""It's a very powerful, very manageable product.""It has definitely helped us to meet compliance rules by assuring that all traffic is going to where it's supposed to go. It can be used to report that you are in compliance, as well as helping you get into compliance.""The initial setup was straightforward."

Cons
"The solution needs some enhancement in order to build the cluster in two nodes.""It's a very complex solution.""The usability must be better.""When new features are added, the service becomes full of bugs.""The unique problem with Cisco Intersight is that it's not supporting some players.""An area for improvement in Cisco Intersight is automation. It needs more automation capabilities. Apart from enhanced automation, I want Cisco Intersight to integrate with third-party monitoring tools in its next release.""In the future, the solution needs to plan on an extension to cover a broader range of objects since, at present, there are some Cisco devices within the range of Intersight UCS that it can't manage.""The product's setup should be easier."

More Cisco Intersight Cons →

"I want to see more in terms of microsegmentation. As of now, I can see the rules, but they are not in a readable format that I can convert to microsegmentation and can fit into NSX Manager.""The solution is very much viewer centric and it would be nice if it would transcend just the virtual infrastructure.""vRNI needs more remediation where it hooks into NSX.""There's enough information there, especially in the visualizations, but I would love to see this in a kiosk mode, where I could have a dashboard for interested stakeholders to see and appreciate what's going on. Then, moving on to a more practical level for our Help Desk, our operations team could benefit by seeing, in real-time, a visual view of the network.""The only real improvement they can make is to add more third-party vendors into the environment, mostly switch manufacturers, because it's really limited to Cisco equipment and there are a lot of companies out there other than Cisco.""The UI, even though once you get to know it, it's easier, still it's hard to figure out by yourself. You have to go read, watch videos. It has a lot of data on it. So that is an issue.""The solution can be improved by making it more compatible with other brands, allowing for better integration.""The only issue we have is that the solution does not always capture the host names."

  • "The solution has helped us to reduce time, increase performance, reduce costs, and even easily manage networks. It ends up saving the customer money and makes us be more efficient on our cost deliveries."

  • "Cost always has room for improvement, you could always make it cheaper. But I think it's a good value for what you pay for it."
  • "It's an expensive product because we have a lot of nodes."
  • "They should include the product in NSX because it's important to have it for deployment."
