We performed a comparison between Comodo Advanced Endpoint Protection and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features."
"Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work."
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward."
"Fortinet FortiEDR's scalability is quite good, and you can add licenses to the solution."
"Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"It is stable and scalable."
"Containment is the best feature of the solution."
"The tool is an open-source EDR with antivirus features. It also has remote support and patch management."
"The big advantage is that it has a sandbox if something bad comes into it."
"It is a very stable solution, making it an excellent product."
"It really protects and does its job. It totally blocked every attack attempt, and no attack attempt was successful."
"The product’s valuable feature is the remote control station."
"They offer the whole package. Remote monitoring and management (RMM) is included with it, which is pretty nice. They also have Windows patching and third-party patching. It was easy to use for protection. The containment engine was pretty nice for securing our environment."
"It's stable and reliable."
"The investigation aspect is the most useful. It's user friendly and has a good user interface."
"What I found most valuable in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is that it's out-of-the-box, which brings more value to the customer. The technical support for the product is also one of the best parts, because it's good, in terms of the product knowledge of the technical engineers."
"Its simplicity is the most valuable. It also has very good integration. We like it."
"We are a Microsoft shop, and Defender is a Microsoft solution that provides some security at a reasonable cost."
"We have liked the fact that it comes with Microsoft Windows 10 and it is constantly updated with all new virus definitions. It is also updated with new security features on a regular basis."
"Technical support has been great."
"Microsoft Defender for Endpoint comes pre-installed in Microsoft Windows."
"DFE organizational security posture has been a positive experience. We're a Microsoft house. It works. Once it's deployed and once it's configured, it works and our clients tend to be happy with it. I haven't really experienced anyone who has been so unsatisfied with the platform that they wanted to go a couple of different directions, that has never happened to me."
"We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels."
"We've had a lot of false positives; things incorrectly flagged that require manual configuration to allow. Even worse, after we allow a legitimate program, it sometimes gets flagged again after an update. This has caused a lot of extra work for my team."
"The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions"
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller."
"We find the solution to be a bit expensive."
"The solution is not stable."
"The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage."
"There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors."
"The product must provide a web filter to block websites based on specific categories."
"Would be good to have a better understanding of what it is that you've got in quarantine."
"They need to enhance the performance of the agents. Currently, the performance is going low when the agent starts a full scan. The agent is consuming a lot of resources while scanning. When there are a lot of documents to check, it slows down the endpoint. This is the only thing that worries me about Comodo, but this issue is also there in other products. It is missing DLP, and I know that they are working on adding some data loss prevention capabilities. They have added some capabilities, but these capabilities are not yet mature. I hope they will enhance these capabilities because it is important to prevent the data from going out from inside. We are protected from the outside, but we also have to be protected from the inside out."
"The licensing fees are high. The company should work to try to lower them for the customer."
"There could be MDRM features added to the product."
"The downside of the product stems from the fact that it is still an unknown product in the market. Comodo needs to invest more in advertisements and promotions."
"The menu could be cleaned up."
"We'd like the solution to include advanced web filtering capabilities, similar to what Sophos offers."
"There is room to improve the security of the solution."
"It is using a large space in your memory all the time. While an antivirus will use some of your memory, if they could reduce the load of the antivirus to some extent that would be good."
"Microsoft Defender for Endpoint can improve by making the reporting faster. It takes some time to reflect back to the administration portal of what has been updated. For example, out of 100 Computers, approximately 90 computers received updates, but when you check the administration portal over one or two days, you will only see 75, even though 90 were updated."
"This solution needs to move beyond relying on virus definitions alone and protect the system using behavioral analysis of the processes that are running."
"The central management console should be improved because it provides limited options to configure Windows Defender."
"I have accounts for administrators and corporate employees, but I also have accounts for students. I can't split these types of accounts. I need a separate configuration for both... I need to research how I can get alerts for only the administrative machines."
"The solution could use improvement on the interface."
"The anti-ransomware features need to be improved upon."
