Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Dell PowerProtect Data Manager helps to reduce the amount of data being transferred and stored.""The solution adequately handles data storage.""Dell EMC PowerProtect Data Manager is user-friendly and easy to use. it does what it needs to do.""I would say flexibility is the most important feature of the product. The performance and speed are the best on the market.""It's the perfect solution for virtual and container directives. The data reduction feature works well, and we haven't had any issues.""The deduplication is the most valuable feature because it helps to control the overhead.""One notable feature is its robust backup support for Kubernetes and container environments. Additionally, PPDM stands out for its ease of deployment and management compared to other backup solutions. It is highly user-friendly, allowing users to quickly learn and implement backup and restore processes within a week. PPDM represents the next generation of backup software and is comparable to offerings from other vendors. Furthermore, PPDM prioritizes security with various access controls, such as user and database access controls. Its deployment tool is also known for its simplicity.""The solution's initial setup is straightforward."

"This solution is quite stable because we have only three users.""The solution is easy to use.""The stability of the product seems to be quite good.""The solution allows us to be able to backup and exchange directly, to backup Microsoft exchange.""I like that Micro Focus keeps a separate catalog of our data.""The most valuable feature is the capability to back up our SQL server.""Data Protector's GUI is the most useful feature.""The file system backup (by far, the most used) is the most valuable feature."

Cons
"A lot of improvement is required in Dell's first level of support.""The Dell EMC PowerProtect Data Manager reports could improve. There should be different kinds of reports on failures, such as dashboards that we can submit to top management or auditors.""As a new product, there are some things that still need to improve a bit as it matures.""Management is difficult and it is hard to determine when things aren't working properly.""There is always room for improvement. The compression ratio should be improved as well as the efficiency.""You need to use additional software to back up entire environments. It will be good if they could support entire tape libraries.""The interface is too complex.""They should include a feature similar to S3 bucket."

More Dell PowerProtect Data Manager Cons →

"I'm uncertain if it supports virtual machine backup and restoration. If they could enhance this aspect, they could gain more support from end users.""If you compare the solution with the same specific features and enhancements on another solution, Data Protector is expensive. This is especially true when compared to, for example, Veeam.""The challenge is that we can't restore a single file from the VM in the data process when we do VM backups. But with Commvault, you can restore a single file even if you have a VM snapshot package. That's one drawback of this tool. When we do VM backups, it should help us browse the VMs to restore a single file instead of doing the complete VM restore.""Virtualization.""Many of our users complain about the GUI. You still need to rely on the command line interface. Because it originated as a Unix system, Data Protector is still a command line-driven solution, which makes it seem rather dated compared to systems that are built around a GUI from day one. It doesn't affect the functionality, but some people don't find it user-friendly.""The online backups of Office 365 have room for improvement. This is now available for the Exchange Online part of Office 365, but we're still waiting for SharePoint Online, Teams, etc. We know that it's coming, but it takes time.""The GUI could be updated. The GUI hasn't changed since version 6. It's on version 10 now. The reporting could also be better. Also, while Data Protector is excellent for backing up physical hardware, it needs more features for backing up VM images because many environments use hypervisor.""In SAP restoration, we faced issues with changing the SIDs and changing the path for every backup object. It is quite a lengthy process to do that."
