Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Access to numerous forums and internet information.""It is easy to virtualize data using the solution.""Denodo makes it easy to export data as a service or data link to other services.""This solution provides us with the ability to sync data, and make it available for anyone to use across the business.""The performance and the speed to market are the most valuable features of this solution.""The most valuable features of Denodo are the extraction option for adapters, and there are many things for the views, that are cached. Denodo is not storing the data, it looks first to tune the query, and these things are for the agents.""It can support a number of data sources, and it can pull flat files, from cloud-based databases or from those on-premises. Denodo can pull from any data source and interface with the view. Then, we can publish the view.""Overall, the product works quite well and has a good set of features."

"The most valuable feature is the metadata generated code.""WhereScape RED has improved our business's ability to generate needed reporting without requiring a large team of developers to manually code all of the necessary plumbing.""Support is absolutely excellent, efficient, and timely.""Quickly develops a data warehouse for our organization with documentation and can track back/forward features.""RED has provided us the ability to integrate, stage, and transform data from diverse sources into an enterprise-grade data warehouse which meets the needs of my organization, but it also enables us to easily and quickly make ETL or DW changes.""I like the data vault implementations.""WhereScape's deployment package is a fantastic feature. The application allows for selecting specific objects that you would like to deploy from one environment to another rather than deploying the entire database.""Their support staff are very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I feel their support staff go above and beyond to assure their customers are satisfied."

Cons
"There have been some issues when you are at a table. Currently, Denodo exports data sets for a tabular model. When you are finished modeling your database or data warehouse they export a link to be used in Tableau. They should support other tools like Power BI.""The solution should have its own acceleration technology.""The feature that you have to connect on LDAP needs improvement.""The solution is slow when there are many virtualization layers.""Denodo can improve usage management-related aspects. If you deal with the mini views, it gets stuck. The performance is very slow when we go with a large number of views and high volume.""I would like to see a proper way to avoid killing the sourcing systems.""Lacks integrations with AWS, GCP and the like.""Tasks such as conversion of a date format or conversion of a number format that can be done in a very easy way in different languages, like SQL or Oracle, are not so easy to do in Denodo. For example, if you want to convert a date from one format to another, in Oracle it's pretty easy; in Denodo, however, it requires so many lines of code. Simple things that can be done very quickly in other database languages require more lines of code in Denodo."

More Denodo Cons →

"Project-based searching of data objects in the data warehouse browser needs to be improved.""Technical support isn't the best.""No support for change data capture or delta detection - that must be custom coded .""They need a more robust support center. It has been a bit difficult to find solutions to problems that are out-of-the-box.""Improve the object renaming ability (it works, but it could be more automated).""The scheduled jobs which are run by the WhereScape scheduler seem to be a strangely separate animal. Unlike all other WhereScape objects, jobs cannot be added to WhereScape projects. Also, unlike all other objects, jobs also cannot be deleted using a WhereScape deployment application.""The ability to execute SSIS projects within WhereScape would be nice because we have a lot of packages that are too cumbersome to recreate.""It could use a tool to diagnose what is missing from the environment for WhereScape to install successfully."
