Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like the solution's adaptive inspection and container inspection.""The technical support is really terrific.""Some of the features that are highly appreciated are its robust data loss prevention capabilities, flexible deployment options, and the ability to monitor data transfer across multiple vectors.""It has been scalable.""The feature we call desktop recording is the most valuable aspect of the solution. Not only can we collect data from the user's usage, but we also capture his screenshots when he is trying to steal the data.""It can scale from 100 to 10,000. There's no problem with the scalability.""The most valuable feature of Digital Guardian is its reputation. They have scored high on the Gartner Magic Quadrant.""There is a built-in endpoint detection response that helps save money."

"The intrusion detection system.""The features that I have found most valuable are encryption tools that encrypt the hard disk and the USB sticks.""The solution can be easily connected and it is very secure.""The product is easy to use.""The product filters phishing emails.""I like that Sophos SafeGuard provides excellent technical support.""It's the best solution on the market.""It's quite easy to integrate Safeguard with BitLocker"

Cons
"Technical support could be better.""When considering potential areas for improvement, it may be beneficial for Digital Guardian to optimize its processes and reduce the computational demands on the system, particularly with regard to high CPU usage. Although Digital Guardian offers numerous benefits, it can consume a substantial amount of RAM and CPU power.""I would like to see the workflow, to get all the rules and policies set up, be less complicated.""The room for improvement with Digital Guardian is that it will be better with the Linux agent because it is the only DLP solution for Linux workstations. It still needs to upgrade the agents to the latest version for the Linux kernel.""The initial setup is a bit more complex than other solutions.""If the client uses Windows 10 or 11 and Microsoft updates the operating system's version, Digital Guardian must update their product to match compatibility.""Some features on Mac and Linux are not complete currently. For example, some device control features haven't been transferred over to the other systems. If they could have their Windows features also available on Mac and Linux, that would be perfect. Some of our customers have a Mac environment for their RD environment. Having the solution fully capable of handling everything in a Mac environment is crucial.""The solution has complexities around policy creation and deployment."

More Digital Guardian Cons →

"If it's possible, they should make all the features available because it's got a lot of features on offer, but you have to buy the license in order to add those features to the normal Endpoint. If they could make all those features available and/or offer a bundling option it would be better.""The solution lacks direct connectivity to Azure AD.""There are times that this solution takes up too much memory that needs to be resolved. If it is not fixed it will definitely create issues in the future.""Sophos SafeGuard cannot block or quarantine such viruses. Quarantine is a feature with shortcomings that needs improvement.""Technical support could be a bit better.""The focus should be on making things automated .""It just needs a little bit more on the reporting side. Its reporting can be improved a little bit in terms of being able to know that things are in the right status. I should be able to pull a report to make sure that everything is all right. It could also have cloud integration. At the time I was using it, it wasn't a cloud product.""The integration could be a little better."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Digital Guardian has both, subscription and perpetual licenses, but I think when everything (all technologies) will go to the cloud they will only offer subscriptions."
  • "If I compare Digital Guardian with Symantec, the license cost is lower, but McAfee can be cheaper than Digital Guardian. It depends on how many licenses you plan to buy and how big the project is. The cost is not so high as Symantec, but not as cheap as McAfee. They can easily sell the solution for price."
  • "The price of Digital Guardian is expensive."
  • "The cost was around $300,000."
  • "The price of Digital Guardian is on the higher end compared to other vendors."
  • "I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten because Digital Guardian is expensive."

  • "The licensing costs depend on the series. For example, XG 85 can be around $200. If you go to ACC or to a four or five-year enterprise solution, you will find these devices can cost $10,000. It depends on the series."
  • "Licensing for this solution is on a yearly basis."
  • "The licenses are dependant on the number of users and computers you have to protect."
  • "We have a yearly license with Sophos which is around $1000-$1200 or so per annum. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
  • "Licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing could be better."
  • "It would be great if the price of the solution was lower than the current price. If we are to sell this particular solution to smaller businesses and not just enterprise businesses it needs to be lower."
  • "We pay around $10 a year for each endpoint, including support."
  • "Pricing for Sophos SafeGuard could be improved because it could reach a thousand dollars depending on the product, edition, and software key purchased."
