We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Domo is not a difficult tool to learn. All you need to know is the SQL for the ETL part. You don't need to write much code. That's the great part. It uses legacy languages, like SQL, which is very common among developers who then don't have to go and learn Domo's own syntax. Therefore, you don't have to learn another hard language to use Domo.""The best thing is that the data storage is pretty much free. I can store as much data as I want, from different sources.""We have found securing data valuable because it allows us to provide information without identifying individuals.""We've worked with all the features of Domo. Among the most important are Pivot and Sumo Cards. We can use drill-down from the top-most level with a click, generating charts.""This solution allows us to change our performance metrics and tracks our goals in real-time.""Domo has a lot of connections using APIs where you can use data from different databases, such as NoSQLs, SQL databases, and other connections. These connections exist to obtain data and transform whatever that you want.""The dashboarding itself was pretty easy. So both the front and the back end were positive in this case.""All our client SLAs and daily and weekly dashboards are tracked on Domo."

"The solution’s dashboard is very good.""The data source is the most valuable feature as it can perform any function.""We use the solution for financial and sales analytics. It brings data from our IT incident management tool. Hence, we have three business use cases for IT support, sales and financials.""Scheduling of reports and dashboards is the most valuable feature of Zoho Analytics.""I like the way I can share dashboards and embed dashboards. I normally use embedding. So, I create a dashboard, and I embed it into specific websites. Sharing of the dashboard is seamless, and it is easier than any other visualization platform, even Tableau.""Zoho Analytics is the best software for giving reports to customers and we can create any report that is required.""We can create advanced-level reports with the tool. We can get data from different Zoho applications and also from other third-party applications. We can create schedules for syncing data from third parties to Zoho Analytics. We can also use table queries for getting data from more than one table.""We moved the data from Zoho Creator to Zoho Analytics and created reports."

Cons
"I would like to see better data intake.""The ETL way of storing is not up to mark. You have to rely on the naming convention that you're using in Domo because there are no folder systems where you can collate all your workflows and put them into separate folders. A folder system should be there so you can easily identify how you are working. Once you want to make some changes to your ETL, then you can see the whole lineage, identifying what is there and not there.""The preconfigured apps need to be more relevant to allow one, out of the box, to load data in order to use pre-set reports/views.""I would like to be able to drill down more when there is a particular area where there is a problem. I don't clearly see that in Domo at the moment.""There were very few cases on some of the tables, the data tables, where I wish there was an additional feature or two.""There's a learning curve before you can get used to the solution.""I would also like to see improvements to their drag and drop Magic ETL tool. You can drag and drop your ETL tool, but it doesn't really work for a large amount of data. It struggles with that. In a real-world application, where you're working with 30 million rows or 100 million rows, it takes a bit longer to process the data. If you do it in the Redshift ETL tool, using your own code, it's much faster.""The forecasting feature, the regression features, and the Python libraries could all be improved. They're all in beta."

More Domo Cons →

"It would be great to have more user input fields which can be used on dashboards.""The solution does not provide call center facilities for customer support.""The hourly pricing needs improvement.""The tool needs to improve analysis and add more features.""The platform's pricing needs improvement.""The customer service and support for this solution could be improved by faster response times.""In terms of improvement, they have a limited number of graphs available in their store. They should come up with more graph style forms. They should have more charts and at the same time, you can't create panels like with Microsoft BA.""I have a lower rating when it comes to Zoho Analytics. The tool has poor performance. It needs to improve the dimensions and measures."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I believe that the investment in Domo was worthwhile because it allowed for the organization to jump in quickly, with little training. There are different plans available based on the requirements."
  • "They've built an "app economy." Some of them are really expensive, so they're not for startups and smaller companies. They're more like enterprise tools. We couldn't afford some of them, because they were so crazy expensive. But if I was working for a bank, insurance company, or some bigger corporation then, for sure, you could justify those prices... It was silly expensive back then and it probably still is, or even more expensive."
  • "We are making money from Domo, and all our clients are happy with the information that they receive from it."
  • "It is on the pricier end."
  • "Domo is slightly costly but it's much cheaper than some."
  • "I'm not sure about pricing, but I believe Domo is quite costly. Prior to joining this organization, I had a Domo license with my former employer and I think that license was around $500 to $600 annually. That was for a single license. I think it varies, depending on the organization that is acquiring Domo."
  • "For about 100 users our cost is $95,800."
  • "Because it's software as a service, it's more expensive on the face of it. But there are a lot of variables. I don't have to pay for servers or for infrastructure. I don't have to pay labor for my IT organization to set up or maintain the environment. I don't have to pay for them to upgrade the software, and test it, etc., because when it rolls out, it is transparent and seamless for us. But, because of that, it costs more, I imagine, than Sisense, or Yellowfin, or Power BI. A lot of those make it sound like they're inexpensive, but when you add in all the hidden costs and all of the overhead, it's probably comparable."

  • "I would recommend looking at your usage and whether the Zoho One license model would work for your organisation. It is very cost effective if you use other Zoho tools."
  • "An exact ROI is hard to calculate. However, we have definitely made sales that would have been much harder, or unlikely, as a result of the speed with which we were able to prepare comprehensive analysis."
  • "I don't feel that price is an issue for this product."
  • "It is very reasonable, and it gives me a good return on investment. Compared to other tools, it is the best choice in terms of pricing."
  • "This solution is reasonable as far as pricing is concerned."
  • "The price is high. The solution advertises that it provides products for 55 AED per user, but these products contain only the basic features. Most of the features are locked. The version of the product that includes Zoho Analytics costs around 199 AED per user per month."
  • "For one license the pricing is about $35 a user."
  • "Zoho Analytics costs $ 4,200 per month, billed yearly."
