AI capabilities helps you find the right folks for your succession plan but issues with scalability
We're just launching it. We have two clients using it. Our company, Heidrick & Struggles, partners with Eightfold.ai, and we use a lot of our own IP, such as digital spend, capabilities, competencies, and culture assessment information. A lot of what we do is gather that assessment data and make recommendations based on that, in addition to Eightfold.ai's insights. It's a combination of the two that really helps us accurately identify the best fit for executive leadership roles. It's purely data-driven, so we try to take human bias out of the process. That's really the sweet spot for this solution – the partnership between Heidrick's components and Eightfold's components. The AI recommends potential leaders, so you don't have to do a ton of thinking. You still want some human interaction, but from a pure recommendation standpoint, it reduces the bias you'd get if you did not use data points for these decisions.

Recruiting module is highly usable, with good performance and goal management features
The setup is not complicated as such. From a user perspective, it's not complicated and, in fact, is quite user-friendly. Even for the implementer, it is quite easy to configure. The implementation time naturally depends upon the requirements, but at a minimum, we can implement recruiting and onboarding with Oracle in 45 days. If you have more of a management workflow, there's also a lot of a customization there. And if you have customized Java applications, those areas need to be developed and it may take more time. But overall, in it can be configured and delivered to customers in 45 days.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution has made our team more collaborative. The recruiting team is easily able to see what the other team members are working on, what candidates are in process and how they can share candidates amongst themselves. They are now able to prevent work duplication due to increased visibility. Eightfold is candidate centric."
"This solution has allowed our team to focus on higher value activities and to make sure that they are optimizing time to identify talent and match it to opportunities. They can then focus on the layers where humans are necessary."
"Stability is fantastic. In the two years we've used it, I've only experienced one outage."
"It really expedites the whole process and helps the end-customer hone in on what they need. With the evolution to remote work that we are currently going through, there's much more of a need to tailor recruiting."
"The most valuable aspect of this solution is the insight we receive on current employees."
"This solution has also been easy to use for people visiting our career site. Our survey report shows that 79-80% of users marked the application process to be very easy on our website."
"The most valuable feature has been the ease at which people can set up their profiles by simply uploading their CV or Linkedin profile. We previously had very low levels of adoption."
"The ability to get matched to candidates is certainly valuable. In real time, you are able to adjust your description of the work and the project you need done in order to match you with the best candidates."
"The stability of the solution is good."
"It is easy to use. Requisition management and pre-screening are the two most valuable features."
"Good integration capabilities and extensibility."
"The solution is stable and reliable."
"The solution offers good benefits for administrators."
"The Talent Acquisition and Headhunting features are good."
"Performance and goal management are good to have, based on certain client requirements where the user base isn't too large, but the most workable domain of Taleo is the recruiting module."

Cons

"The tagging feature is not as in depth and easy to use as I would've hoped for. Although you can create tags for candidates, there's no way to report all those tags and see what tags are already created."
"We have had a couple of challenges with some of the things that we're currently trying to build out in our HCM application, and other things within the portfolio, but those aren't customer-facing issues."
"There are some small product features that could be enhanced. Ease of use and the recruiter user experience could be improved. Moving through certain stages involves many clicks which can be time consuming."
"There is room for improvement with regards to sourcing and attribution and to be more efficient with connecting leads."
"Eightfold could be improved if they had more round table conversations about features and their roadmap. They should actively seek out feedback from their customers."
"An opportunity for Eightfold to improve on is to open up their environment to allow us to own our application maintenance and development environment. We would like to be able to make some of the configuration changes and improvements ourselves."
"It would be interesting to enable Eightfold to have a user experience that is seamless in terms of single sign on to and from core systems of record. That is, the ability for a user or hiring manager/recruiter to go in and out of Eightfold back into their core system, whether that be Oracle, Workday, SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, etc. It would great to be able to go back and forth with a single sign on capability so that you don't have to log in and out of applications, where it's a bidirectional single sign on."
"From my perspective, I think the usability could use some attention. Eightfold.ai offers modules for talent acquisition, talent management, and other areas like projects. They try to use a common UI for all of them, but it really needs to be more persona-based. That's the thing that I struggle with the most."
"In terms of Oracle Taleo as a product, there are a lot of things which can be developed; most feedback which I have heard from customers is about the dashboard and the home page, both of which are quite basic."
"The bulk recruitment feature does not work well."
"It would be ideal if we could integrate the solution with Olympia. It would be helpful if we could add another support desk for an IT person. It would be great if the product was more interdisciplinary and could include IT."
"There are always going to be little caveats here and there that you might not have known about as far as changes are concerned, however, it's not business-oriented to the point where the business shuts down."
"I don't see very valuable features in this product because it has an old way of interpreting ATS. It should be more flexible in managing datasets and data searches. The screening data is a long process in Taleo."
"Lacks some systems that we need."
"The pricing could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is fair compared to the market."
"This is a fairly expensive solution compared to others on the market. However, the solution offers functionality of a number of other different solutions combined. From that perspective, it is competitively priced."
"The pricing is fairly competitive. The licensing is fairly flexible to have all employees take advantage of it in any given capacity."
"I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive."
"Whether you pay annually or on some other payment schedule depends on the license model you choose. Typically, clients pay a yearly subscription."
