We performed a comparison between Elastic Security and SolarWinds Log Analyzer based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Splunk, Wazuh, Datadog and others in Log Management."We chose the product based on the ability to scan for malware using a malware behavioral model as opposed to just a traditional hash-based antivirus. Therefore, it's not as intensive."
"The visualization is very good."
"The most valuable feature of Elastic Security is that you can install agents, and they are not separately licensed."
"Elastic Security is very customizable, and the dashboards are very easy to build."
"The most valuable thing is that this solution is widely used for work management and research. It's easy to jump into the security use case with the same technology."
"Elastic has a lot of beats, such as Winlogbeat and Filebeat. Beats are the agents that have to be installed on the terminals to send the data. When we install beats or Elastic agents on every terminal, they don't overload the terminals. In other SIEM solutions such as Splunk or QRadar, when beats or agents are installed on endpoints, they are very heavy for the terminals. They consume a lot of power of the terminals, whereas Elastic agents hardly consume any power and don't overload the terminals."
"It is an extremely stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The solution is compatible with the cloud-native environment and they can adapt to it faster."
"SolarWinds Log Analyzer works for specific conditions, like when someone needs to monitor a specific log or do specific actions."
"One limitation of Elastic Security is that it does not have built-in workflows for all tasks. For example, if you need a workflow for compliance, you will need to create a custom workflow."
"One thing they could add is a quick step to enable users who don't have a solid background to build a dashboard and quickly search, without difficulty."
"There should be a simulation environment to check whether my Elastic implementation is functioning perfectly fine. Other solutions have their own Android and iOS applications that I can install on my mobile so that I am continuously connected to the SIEM."
"Authentication is not a default in Kibana. We need to have another tool to have authentication and authorization. These two should be part of Kibana."
"The tool needs to integrate with legacy servers. Big companies can have legacy servers that may not always be updated."
"I would like the process of retrieving archived data and viewing it in Kibana to be simplified."
"With Elastic Security, the challenge arises from the fact that there is a learning curve in relation to queries and understanding the query language provided to extract usable data."
"This type of monitoring is not very mature just yet. We need more real-time information in a way that's easier to manage."
"SolarWinds Log Analyzer should deliver more integrated products so you can manage the console and easily configure the solution."
