We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers.""The product's initial setup phase is very easy.""It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward.""Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.""The stability is very good.""Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR.""The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure.""Impressive detection capabilities"

"I would say that this solution has the best support team in this kind of Endpoint protection product.""ESET has regular updates, and it gives me good feedback. It's not too onerous like some of the products I've used in the past.""The solution is very lightweight and does not consume that much processor in terms of CPU utilization. The centralized management system is very good.""I rate ESET Endpoint Security eight out of 10 for ease of setup. Setting up ESET can be straightforward or complicated depending on the customer's environment. The deployment time varies, but it's typically around five days. We have a team of four or five people involved in the deployment. Only one person is needed for maintenance. The only maintenance is adjusting the configuration of the dashboard.""The most valuable features are the sandbox, mail scanning, sandboxing attachments, files, and that it responds to VPN porting.""It is pretty easy to deploy. Its update definition file is small, so it can dispatch very quickly within the enterprise. The product itself is very lightweight, so it won't delay your endpoint. You also don't have to do any difficult configuration because it comes with a very good default setting. So, you just install it and forget it.""Technical support has been very good. They're quick to respond to any problems.""The overall security capability of the product is pretty reliable."

"There aren't any features that really stand out — I just want it to keep malware out of my system. To date, I haven't had any malware in my system.""It is excellent endpoint protection for mobiles that does everything it says it will.""Valuable features include good scanning, very light footprint and management console that the client can access and (just as important) in which I can see status of groups of computers (I am a consultant, IT role).""The most valuable features of the solution include the endpoint navigation protection, the protection related to the EMS service, as well as the control and the cloud integration capabilities.""I like that Webroot is very lightweight. It didn't bog down the machine, and more importantly, it had heuristics artificial intelligence to some degree. It wasn't like full-blown artificial intelligence, but something where you have one endpoint recognizing issues because it maintains a cloud database. If one client recognizes a threat, it would add it to the database, and almost immediately, every agent in the world would also know about that threat. That was very appealing to us. However, now it's becoming commonplace, whereas ventures like Symantec and McAfee were based more on the traditional model of definition and updates, and we were always falling behind. Webroot also has pretty good technical support.""The solution has many features. It is very easy to define and set the policies based on the user groups, it does not take up a lot of resources in operation, and has provided us with a good track record of protection.""It is pretty unintrusive. It doesn't take over the system like McAfee or Norton. It doesn't use a whole lot of resources. McAfee and Norton use a lot of resources.""Doesn't consume resources or affect the computer performance at all."

Cons
"Detections could be improved.""The support needs improvement.""Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection.""We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments.""The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices.""The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions""FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting.""To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"The solution includes only Intrusion Detection and not IPS, which is an important feature that is missing in my version.""It's not scalable in that you cannot use a license for multiple devices.""The product should provide a one-click option to renew the licenses.""ESET Endpoint Security could improve EDR integration.""They should have better support for different languages and auto-upgrading.""The console or GUI of ESET Endpoint Antivirus should improve. Additionally, they should provide an addon feature for HyperV and VMware.""The migration between on-prem and cloud has room for improvement.""The interface is good. However, it could always be better. It could be more user-friendly."

More ESET Endpoint Protection Platform Cons →

"Webroot Business Endpoint Protection needs to focus on how they can widen their area of scope by not just being an antivirus tool anymore. The shortcoming in the customization area of the tool needs improvement.""There needs to be more advanced analytics. It would make it a more powerful antivirus solution within the marketplace.""I believe that Webroot Business Endpoint Protection should offer a more modern UI.""I want Webroot to be easier to use and set up. It is not very intuitive.""We need to have a stronger defense against CryptoLock and other attackers.""They should provide more information on the type of cyber attacks.""It would be nice if it had a feature for automatically generating reports on the client end for device status, security status and backup information.""Since they're dealing with multi-core environments now, the best option would be for them to enhance the product so that the product can automatically do an assessment on the machine."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
