Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The incident management and fingerprinting have been the most valuable features.""The most valuable feature of this solution is that it captures where the data is being moved.""I like that you can quickly create policies and enforce them in a matter of minutes.""After the configuration, it is very stable, and in the last two years, I haven't been faced with many issues or product-related challenges.""The initial setup process went well.""The Forcepoint tool is well developed. It is ranked in many evaluations at the top when it comes to enterprise DLP solutions. It has good artificial intelligence that enables our customers to focus on specific incidents, instead of having a complicated list of uncategorized incidents.""A very user-friendly predefining feature.""We don't require a lot of downtime, but when we do then we are getting proper support with no issue."

"I really like the auditing component because it really looks at exactly what has happened on the network.""I like the solution's feasibility. McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is also better and easier to use than other ePOs.""Technical support is very helpful.""The security is a key feature and the console is very user friendly.""The central management console is the solution's most valuable aspect.""From a single dashboard, I can take a look at several things including the endpoint protection, the file integrity section, the data activity monitor, and more.""The solution's best part is that it is very easy to manage McAfee Agent.""What I like the most is the ability to manage centrally, to manage the various devices, the platform, and the endpoint, all from one console."

Cons
"The solution lacks sufficient customization.""The price could be reduced to be more cost, effective.""There is room for improvement regarding OCR. I would like to see it enhanced to handle multiple languages and it should be easier to manage.""The initial setup is a bit complex. You will need help from the peer support team in the configuration.""When you automatically try to upgrade the agent it causes problems.""They can improve a bit in the OCR category. The OCR deployment could be simplified. Right now, you have to set up a separate server to manage all the data going through the network, especially the images. Forcepoint could better integrate the OCR component with central management.""With respect to the discovery component, the reports are very hard to interpret because they come out in an illogical format.""You have to monitor the solution all the time."

"The solution could improve the EDR component in many areas, such as the zero-day and persistent threats. The implementation is also complex for this feature.""The issues with the integration capabilities of the product, specifically the ones that are deployed on an on-premises model, need to be improved.""There are some issues we are having with updating our Windows server. So we need to contact support or access our support portal.""The impact of the agent on the endpoint's performance - the resources it takes. Additionally, the difficulties we experience with inheriting and breaking inheritance on the organization's structure breakdown for policy inheritance and then for rules inheritance. We are actually struggling with this.""There are some issues relating to the automation of reports. That's why I wanted the DLP reports. There are some problems in this area. Sometimes it does not work even though all the configuration words are right. There are also some problems with automatic updates.""There needs to be support for Mac computers. Currently, McAfee does not work on iOS.""There is a problem when it comes to agent communication and duplicate records, where the rebooting of a machine leads to the installation of a new agent and you get a lot of duplicate records that ultimately affect your compliance monitoring.""We need to consolidate multiple features into one console. It would be beneficial to have all the important features on a single platform."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It's not the cheapest solution but it's not the most expensive. It's a good price for a good product."
  • "The pricing and licensing are okay."
  • "The pricing and licensing fees could be improved."
  • "I prefer Forceoint because it is cheaper than Symantec."
  • "The cost for the product for our use is less than $10 per user."
  • "Forcepoint DLP is a bit expensive."
  • "One feature that I'm getting ready to take advantage of more is the ability to add more data crawlers to the DLP on-prem environment, without any extra Forcepoint costs or licensing needed for that additional data server. That will help in reducing the stress on the data server that we're using now."
  • "Its pricing is quite low considering the features they are offering. As compared to other solutions, it is reasonable. They do have professional support. If we need professional support, then there will be additional costs."

  • "Compared to other Antivirus products, the cost of this solution is a bit high."
  • "McAfee tries to package different things into different products, then sell them as different products with different licenses. They just split everything up into multiple things. That's just their sales pitch and how they do it."
  • "This solution is priced in the mid-range."
  • "For large enterprise companies, the price should be alright, but for small businesses, the uptake might be slow because, for these clients, the price doesn't look very attractive."
  • "It is attractively priced. It is a fraction of what we're going to pay for CrowdStrike or SentinelOne, but it only has a fraction of the capabilities as well."
  • "There is a license required to use this solution. If we use the additional components, such as DLP encryption, there is an additional cost. However, it is similar to a separate product altogether. If you want to use that or not, it is optional, but when you use it, it will cost you additional pricing."
  • "McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is not an expensive solution."
  • "$The price of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is expensive, it is approximately $6,000 to $9,000 per license annually."

    Overview

Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is a data loss prevention tool that protects users from advanced threats and data breaches. Forcepoint DLP’s technologies can quickly identify and protect sensitive data and provide insight and awareness into attacks on endpoint devices both on and off the network.

With company data constantly on the move, data security teams must have visibility and control across all channels - endpoint, web, network, email, and cloud. Forcepoint DLP provides protection and visibility across all data in the cloud as well as on-premises. One of the key features of Forcepoint DLP is its ability to identify data at rest, in motion, and in use and efficiently secure sensitive information.

    Forcepoint DLP key features:

    • Identify, remediate and secure sensitive data with network, cloud, and endpoint discovery.
    • Central management of policies across all channels, including cloud, endpoint, network, web, and email.
    • Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to identify data embedded in images.
    • Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for validation checks, real name detection, and proximity analysis.
    • Custom encryption identification for exposing concealed data.
    • Machine learning, which allows users to train the system to identify unfamiliar data. Users can provide the engine with positive and negative examples so similar data can be flagged.
    • Analytics for identifying changes in user behavior. These analytics are leveraged to better understand user risk and are then implemented as automated policy enforcement based on the risk level of the user.
    • Cloud protection for monitoring and preventing the loss of sensitive data online, and assessing the risk posed by visited websites.

    Reviews from Real Users

Forcepoint DLP stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its risk analysis features and its OCR and data discovery capabilities.

Allan P., an associate consultant at Atos, writes, “With OCR and Risk Analysis, we are able to determine if anything sensitive has been shared. OCR helps us to safeguard those things and with risk ranking, we can determine which user is trying to violate policies multiple times even though they have been blocked. It does require additional servers, as the processing and result of the incident is high, however, it's worth using to see all the use cases being met with these two features as well. They are the best features provided by Forcepoint.”

Mahesh D., A senior manager at 2Five1, notes, “The workflow remediation is quite good. That is a key feature because of which it has the upper hand over other DLP solutions. Endpoint protection, web protection, network protection, and storage use are valuable features. Among these, endpoint protection is most valuable. It has good policies and good mechanisms to detect incidents. The workflow remediation is quite good. That is a key feature because of which it has the upper hand over other DLP solutions.
