We performed a comparison between Fortinet FortiMail Cloud and TitanHQ SpamTitan based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Cloud Email solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The scanners with FortiMail are valuable."
"FortiMail Cloud is very fast."
"The most valuable features are the low price and its ability to integrate with other Fortinet products."
"The deployment is simple."
"If there is a problem somewhere Fortinet can act on it immediately. That is very important."
"The product's initial setup is straightforward and simple, making it an easy-to-use tool."
"This solution is easy to install. The deployment takes about forty-five minutes."
"This is a solid email monitoring and security system that learns and maintains a two-way dialog with email system administrators."
"The mail scanning is most valuable. They've been very good. We've used other ones, and everything else seems to be substandard than this. The other thing that I found helpful with SpamTitan was the ability to import rules from other appliances."
"Among the features that led us to choose SpamTitan are the ability to lock down, the multiple layers of security they have built into it, the ability to scrub inbound and outbound, as well as higher-level SPF and DMARC capabilities that were not really built into our previous product."
"I have found the feature that creates seamless categorization of emails valuable. This is most likely done by having a large database to compare and to identify what are the domains that are currently spammers."
"We're now using SpamTitan Plus. It has an extra feature so that if you receive an email with a link, it goes to the TitanHQ server and that link is also checked. That is probably the best feature."
"I had server issues but I still needed to be able to look at what emails I would have received if my email server had been working correctly. SpamTitan has a reporting functionality that showed me what emails would have been sent. I could actually see the content of those emails."
"The most valuable feature is the Link Lock, which prevents our users from clicking on links that haven't been verified."
"Content filtering as well as Link Lock, which is URL parsing, are valuable, but anti-spam would be the biggest feature to help reduce overall spam for the company."
"It works as it should. It allows users to manage emails that they receive, meaning they can set up whitelists and blacklists."
"The product could be improved by extending reporting tools and adding options for notification."
"It is slightly difficult to configure FortiMail in the cloud with Exchange on-premise, especially the quarantine mailbox access for end-users."
"The tool's UI can be simple since it's cluttered now and you can't understand where you are going. It's not obvious to find out the menus or things that you are looking to find."
"This ease of use and user-friendliness is something we believe could be improved in FortiMail."
"The downside of this solution is that it is difficult to implement policies on FortiMail."
"I would like to see more advanced sandbox features, where you can actually download to a machine where you can test."
"The dashboard could use improvement."
"The URL filtering and handling should be enhanced because it doesn't support all languages. I believe that this would be easy to enhance in the future."
"I'm a contractor, I get an awful lot of organizations that are spammy in nature with respect to trying to recruit people. SpamTitan is a little more aggressive than I'd like it to be with respect to filtering some of those out, especially when I'm looking for a contract."
"I'm not 100% sure how well they scan certain attachments."
"I would like to see a filter for searching inside the message content when it is quarantined."
"One of the things that I have been asking them to do is add the ability to scan a domain's age. It seems like the majority of spam right now have been registered with brand new domains. They are utilizing and abusing them for two weeks until they make it onto all the blacklists, then they pick a new one. They just move on. So, if we could scan a domain's age, and just say, "Outright block domains that are less than two weeks old," then it would make SpamTitan even better. They absolutely should be doing that. I would love it if they would do that."
"The user interface is good, but it could use some improvement. There's a little bit of an issue where a certain feature is not in an intuitive spot and coexisting with another feature that has similar functionality... The UI is a little dated-looking as well."
"The interface is a little outdated. The menus are simplistic and visually, it's pretty old."
"The SpamTitan user interface is not amazing, but I don't mind it. I know they are releasing a new one soon. I have seen it and it looks a lot better. That has been an area that needs improvement."
"The analysis of ransomware attachments could be improved. Other solutions seem to detect ransomware faster than SpamTitan does."
