We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Google has a lot of tools. They are really useful and they are really simple to use.""The initial setup is easy.""It is very easy to use. Everything is available on the cloud, which is what I like the most. So, when we require a document, we can download it at any time and in any of the formats.""I like that you can easily create folders and sort things by sliding them in and out. I like the sliding option. It's quite nice.""Google Drive Enterprise has helped compile data in one spot.""Google autosaves your work, which means you won't lose things.""The most valuable feature is the ability to share files.""This solution has become an enhanced product over the years. It is more stable and they keep adding features."

"The software is friendly to use for mixing data and analyzing it.""The most valuable features for us are their document management list and hybrid forms. and We also use third party ad-dons to achieve workflows and other recent apps.""The forms aspect of the solution, for example, the creation of surveys, is its most valuable aspect.""The most valuable feature is that it is very usable. I can navigate it, I can have a media call, I can have a call with my project team, so we can chat with every team kind of like WhatsApp. Any time there are projects or other things, we can chat in a secure way. It's automation-specific secure.""The most valuable feature is the "Alert Me", which provides the ability to set an alert when content is either added or changed and that the alerts can be either real-time or aggregated for the day or the week.""The collaboration, the ability for multiple users to work on a single document.""Document management and records management features are the most valuable.""The solution is scalable. You can do both horizontal and vertical scaling."

Cons
"It's become difficult to fit everything in one window.""I would like to see better integration with Google Docs, the Google landscape in general, and other environments.""Google Drive Enterprise can improve by suggesting to me I have duplicate files or some kind of duplicate feature. If it can give that kind of advice, it would be a great feature on a drive storage capability. There has to be some kind of machine learning to analyze individual data and provide recommendations.""I also use Word from Microsoft Office. Sometimes it's difficult to find some features that are available in Office and not available in Google Docs or are in a different place (if you are more used to Word). We sometimes lose time trying to find certain useability features.""Lacks scalability and security.""I would like better security because I use Google Drive to store some personal documents, It would be nice if I could password protect some files.""The solution is relatively new and takes some time to get used to.""The ability to share documents with outside clients can be improved. It is difficult to share documents with outside clients, and that's why I am looking at some other solution. If you use Google Drive, they want you to use all of their Google Suite, but not everybody uses Google Suite for document creation. It is not a great solution if you are working with a company that doesn't use Google Suite."

More Google Drive Enterprise Cons →

"The product could be improved by accommodating different technologies, particularly integration.""The ability to preview files in different formats should be expanded to include formats such as embedded postscript (EPS), AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat PDF.""The permission management features need improvement.""The solution is like a CRM, so the initial setup is complex. It takes a few days to deploy the solution and the length of time depends on how large the company's topology is and what the client's demands are.""This solution is not very stable. It is useful to arrange data but it's not the best for big data. Sometimes we have issues with our reports as a result.""The areas around security, such as protection, need to be included.""The solution needs to enable better sharing capabilities between users and external users. Several users also have problems with linking their emails to their Microsoft account.""The GUI is outdated."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The program is very affordable."
  • "It is inexpensive and the cost is per user per month."
  • "There is a monthly fee that we pay for the use of this solution and the price is fair."
  • "It has a yearly license."
  • "I have evaluated Amazon AWS and IBM solutions. Amazon AWS has competitive prices for cloud storage and backups."
  • "The costs could be lower, but they are reasonable for the value they provide."
  • "Google is much cheaper than Microsoft."
  • "The price could be better."

  • "One of the reasons why we don't recommend the cloud version of SharePoint is the cost. With the on premise version, you pay for the license once. For the cloud version, there is a recurring fee. It is very expensive. They expect everyone to pay $20 or $30 per user per month."
  • "There are some aggressive discounts offered by Microsoft for organizations that are not for profit, which we are, and it makes it quite attractive to consider."
  • "Pricing plans may be flexible depending on volume usage and your corporate relationship with Microsoft."
  • "It can be expensive for on-premises deployments, especially when you have to support SQL Server as your backend database. That's where the cost comes into play. SQL Server has its own licensing, which Microsoft keeps on changing. Therefore, it can become costly. In the earlier versions of SharePoint, version 2007 or 2010, they had an express version where the SQL Server licensing was free. It wasn't like a full-blown SharePoint. It was only a slimmed-down version. It used to be whatever your hardware costs. You would install the free software and work with it, but you were very limited in what you could do in SharePoint. If you wanted the SharePoint Enterprise Server with all the bells and whistles, then you had to pay more to get the SQL Server license based on the number of users or servers. The subscription model is different for cloud deployments. Licensing is per user and per month. The cost also depends on the storage required. If you have a lot of sites or documents, then you need to expand it based on your needs."
