We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is well documented in a data sheet.""It's very reliable. I haven't had a single failure at all in the year and a half; not the slightest problem with it.""The cost benefit of this solution is most valuable. It is quite effective for the work for which we are using it. We are mainly running video servers on these, and we are quite happy with the resilience, density storage, and streaming capacity of the system.""We usually use three blades for two-rack units, and with enough storage, it's really a small system with a powerful CPU, powerful hard drives, powerful disks.""With HPE Apollo, we can propose configurations with many hard drives, making it suitable for large storage needs.""we can use the same platform for several use cases: Hadoop, Ceph, and we are considering the server for another use case right now. It's a single solution, we only have to integrate it once and we can use it for several technologies.""HPE Apollo's most valuable feature is the ability to expand our storage capacity.""It's going to meet our needs moving forward, it is scalable."

"The performance is good.""The product's initial setup phase was easy.""The hybrid solution is much more stable than other products.""I have found the compression capability the most valuable feature.""PowerEdge servers have high CPU processing power, and the support is also good.""Technical support has been helpful.""One of the main features that attract customers to buy their products is the great management tool and almost zero failure rate, making it easy to use.""The solution provides good support and service."

Cons
"Lustre seems to be just a little bit unstable overall.""We have tried to used standardization using Ubuntu Linux and it's been hard. They had some difficulties getting the RAID configuration up and running because there are no drivers for it. It's not supported by HPE.""The technical support from HPE has always been good in my experience.""If there could be some training for our team, we would be better equipped to promote and support HPE Apollo.""We are quite happy with it, but its price and storage density can be better.""One drawback which I had: When I needed to expand storage on the Apollo, I had significant problems getting disks for it. It was a very long wait-time. So, if I were to give any advice in regards to improving this product, I would say make more of the 8TB disks available quicker.""We would like to see SimpliVity on top of the Apollo.""We would like to see improved cooling because that is quite an issue. If you put that much compute power into a single rack, cooling really becomes an issue. And there is room for improvement there."

"The VxRail should be opened to allow other virtualization platforms to be used.""There is some trouble with the stability part of the product, making it an area where improvements are required.""It should be improved in terms of future expansion. We should be able to have additional free slots for future extensions in terms of memory.""There has been an increase in quality issues.""The solution’s pricing could be cheaper.""The product’s pricing could be a little cheaper.""It would be better if the solution provided simplified storage and hardware with an integrated one-tier architecture.""Its customer service could be better."
