We performed a comparison between IBM SPSS Modeler and SAS Visual Analytics based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Knime, Weka, IBM and others in Data Mining."Compared to other tools, the product works much easier to analyze data without coding."
"We had an IBM Guardium service contract where we used one of their resources to help us develop our prototype. It was a good experience, but they were helpful and responsive."
"The most valuable features of the IBM SPSS Modeler are visual programming, you don't have to write any code, and it is easy to use. 90 to 95 percent of the use cases, you don't have to fine-tune anything. If you want to do something deeper, for example, create a better neural network, then you have to go into the features and try to fine-tune them. However, the default selection which is made by the tool, it's very practical and works well."
"We are using it either for workforce deployment or to improve our operations."
"Some basic form of feature engineering for classification models. This really quickens the model development process."
"It scales. I have not run into any challenges where it will not perform."
"I think it is the point and drag features that are the most valuable. You can simply click at the windows, and then pull up the functions."
"It's a very organized product. It's easy to use."
"The technical support services are good."
"It's relatively simple to create basic dashboards and reports."
"The most solution's notable aspect, in my view, is the ability to integrate various data sources and harness advanced technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. This helps with quality assurance processes."
"What I really love about the software is that I have never struggled in implementing it for complex business requirements. It is good for highly sophisticated and specialized statistics in the areas that some people tend to call artificial intelligence. It is used for everything that involves visual presentation and analysis of highly sophisticated statistics for forecasting and other purposes."
"I believe that the possibilities for exploring data and formulating visual results are quite good because it allows the business analyst to have different perspectives on the data."
"The speed to display charts and react to users' choices is great."
"The product is stable, reliable, and scalable."
"I use Visual Analytics for enterprise reporting."
"The forecasting could be a bit easier."
"Requires more development."
"Expensive to deploy solutions. You need to buy an extra deployment unit."
"It is not integrated with Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI."
"If IBM could add some of the popular models into the SPSS for further analysis, like popular regression models, I think that would be a helpful improvement."
"The product does not have a search function for tags."
"The time series should be improved."
"It would be good if IBM added help resources to the interface."
"Better connectivity with other data origins, better visualization, and the ability to create KPIs directly would all help."
"The reason we haven't rolled it out across the board is due to the fact that the licensing is so expensive."
"Colours used on report objects"
"There are a few little things that are predefined and can be done out of the box immediately. There is no business intelligence application that is predefined, which is something some customers or prospects would love to have. Small and mid-sized companies would struggle with it because they prefer something standard that has been predefined by somebody else."
"The visualization should be better in SAS Visual Analytics. It is easy to use but when compared to other solutions it is lacking and the support is not very good."
"SAS Visual Analytics could be more user-friendly."
"There is room for improvement in anti-money laundering prevention and operation monitoring, as well as operation monitoring surveillance."
"The deployment isn't smooth. Deploying Visual Analytics on the cloud takes a lot of work, or you can use some providers that give you SAS as a service. For example, there is a provider called SaasNow. They host SAS Visual Analytics and the license. You can buy the license and deploy it there without the hassle of installation because deploying the software isn't easy."
