We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Feature-wise, I like the way it provides inventory details...It is a stable solution.""The most valuable feature is the distribution module.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine or ten out of ten since it is an extremely scalable solution that can be used for various use cases with thousands of users.""Individual user profiles that can be configured as templates to minimize data entry.""I like the connectivity and interfaces. In V10, it's easy to modify the interfaces and layouts, but it's becoming more complicated in the cloud. IFS is excellent at asset maintenance and incident management. They have specialized modules for IFS that cover incident and asset management and everything else connected to finance. The reporting in IFS is also easy to use.""There tends not to be a massive weakness in the product itself, as weaknesses can quickly be resolved in the next patch or the next release.""One of our favorite features is the "Info-Zone", which provides operational intelligence in flight and in context to guide both business users and support teams to productivity.""The most valuable features of IFS Applications in the latest version are the new user Arena interface. It's from Apps 9, but it brings more flexibility in usage, especially around different devices, such as mobile usage, which doesn't restrict you from using a computer. We are it for the HR side, and it's proving quite good. It has a new modern feel to it similar to a standard cloud application which enhances the user experience."

"Managing the server and taking advantage of the services provided by SAP itself is the most valuable feature.""It is good in data analytics and helps in data analytics.""The manufacturing area is a good feature.""The ability to access and analyze data in real-time has significantly improved our reporting efficiency.""It is stable and scalable. In the S4HANA plain version, they have new dashboards and things like that.""S/4HANA Cloud is very stable.""The integration is very stable.""SAP S4HANA Cloud is one of the best products in enterprise solutions, especially in manufacturing, retail, logistics, wholesaling, and distribution."

Cons
"IFS uses Crystal Report mostly, which isn't too user-friendly. Developing reports isn't easy and requires a lot of dev time. Since SAP bought it, Crystal Report has become more complicated to use on IFS. You have a dashboard for reporting that is good, but it's incomplete. Most of our clients use Power BI or some additional tooling for BI.""It would be ideal if, in the future, the product could incorporate IoT and blockchain elements. We'd like to explore more of these types of features going forward.""We would like to see AI-driven CSI functions built into the tool that would allow us to quickly tie our improvement goals to metrics and activities, so Assyst will suggest the next steps to help us get closer to our goals.""IFS Applications is not robust enough to handle high-volume transactions, so it's not suitable for larger enterprises.""The solution's initial setup process was complex...The technical support my company receives from the implementation partners of the solution is not that great.""An area for improvement would be transactions, which can be tedious to complete as the process is very complex.""There should be some improvements in the predefined templates in IFS Applications.""The integration is a bit complex, and post-implementation support services need to be improved. They have a service center based out of Sri Lanka. The support aspect is good, but the response time is a little slower than we anticipated. In the next release, it would be better if Warehouse Management could be improvised. They have a product line that's a data warehouse management system, but it's still premature and requires a bit of enhancement."

More IFS Cloud Platform Cons →

"Public cloud is single-tenant so there are limitations on what can be customized.""The user experience has some room for improvement. S/4HANA covers various scenarios based on the best business practices, but users complain about its user experience. It is not a user-friendly ERP solution. I rate the current UX seven out of 10.""The initial setup can be complex, depending on the environment.""Customer service and support's response time is really long.""UX design is not flexible and lacks compatibility with mobile devices.""SAP S4HANA Cloud's production planning screens could be improved.""The price is mainly suitable for larger companies, even then, there may be other, cheaper solutions. Additionally, this solution is the result of multiple acquisitions leaving room for there to be issues with performance.""It's a huge software, and they need to make it look less complex and more user friendly. They need to work on user stories and user experiences."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is better to buy implementation services from IFS than from partners"
  • "Licensing is on an annual basis, with no additional costs."
  • "Ask for all-inclusive pricing, as they are pretty flexible if you ask for custom models."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
  • "IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
  • "There's an additional yearly cost for support."
  • "There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
  • "IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."

  • "The pricing is competitive with other products at that level in that category."
  • "I feel the solution is expensive when it comes to what can be obtained with open source software."
  • "This is a pricey solution that best serves large enterprises. Be sure to ensure that your company's requirements need to be fulfilled by SAP. There are many other ERP's that are cheaper yet highly functional. However, it is still cheaper than some of the competition (i.e. Oracle, ESD, etc.)"
  • "I don't remember the specifics about the licensing, but it's scaled and modular. You pay for what you use. It's not a one-size-fits-all license. You have a license for every single module. It's similar to Oracle."
  • "The licensing process for SAP S/4HANA Cloud has worked well."
  • "It's very expensive."
  • "Pricing wise, SAP S4HANA Cloud is very expensive. The licensing cost can be 100,000 euros per year, depending on the number of users in your company."
  • "S/4HANA is an enterprise solution that many can't afford. You must invest a lot to get the most out of it. It isn't cheap. I rate the price seven out of 10."
