Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"LogDNA consolidates all logs into one place, which is super valuable.""The solution aggregates all event streams, so that if there are any issues, it's all in the same interface."

"Splunk setup is easy and straightforward. ""The feature that we use the most is the correlation search engine within ES.""The solution helped reduce our alert volume.""Deployment server for deploying changes in one go.""Its huge, versatile AppBase helped me to configure and bring data from different sources to a unified platform.""The correlation search functions that generate all the notables are valuable. That can get pretty complicated, and it handles that pretty well.""It's basically one of the best SIEM products on the market.""The most valuable feature is the custom dashboard feature."

Cons
"Every once in a while, our IBM cloud operational implementation gets behind. Sometimes, when we have a customer event, we do not get access to the latest logs for about 30 minutes, particularly for the sites that are heavily utilized. This is clearly not good. It is impossible to RCA when you can't look at the logs that pertain to the time period in which the event occurred. It could be more of an operational problem than a feature problem. I don't have visibility about whether it is a LogDNA issue or just an operational issue.""No ability to encapsulate a query or a filter, and communicate or share that among the team."

More Mezmo Cons →

"Although the technical support is adequate, there is still room for improvement.""Splunk's ability to analyze malicious activities scores an 8 out of 10, but there's room for improvement. By analyzing emerging patterns, Splunk could identify and predict potential threats more effectively.""Deployment is not difficult but the lock sources and configurations can take time.""This solution could be improved by better pricing in general and by easier installation.""Most of my interaction is with the user community, which is how Splunk wants it. When I need help, that community is very hit or miss.""The product's price may be an area of concern where improvements are required.""The algorithms customization of Splunk could improve. They have limited algorithms for machine learning support. If they can allow the user to add more machine learning algorithms, such as the ability to choose the algorithm that a user might want. Additionally, they should provide the required libraries for those algorithms, and then analyzes the data for use.""It is a good product, but the Achilles heel for a lot of organizations is the cost model for it because it gets expensive. That's because the model is based on how much data it processes a day, which can be prohibitive, especially if you have a lot of data. A lot of customers may not be ready for the sticker shock on how to fully leverage the product. I realized that the reason for that is that when it was originally designed, it was kind of like a big data modeling application. If they want to have a bigger customer base, they can come out with subsets of their product that are focused on specific things and have different pricing models. It may help with the cost."
